Tiddly Inks challenge- going goth!!!

Good morning everybody!!
I am just enjoying my last morning of staying in my PJ's until 8am!!!! and this morning is especially good as I have managed to get my Tiddly Inks challenge card done!! yey me!!! Lots of piccies today!!!

I was so inspired by the DT's fab creations and had an idea in mind really quickly (....a miracle for me!!! romfl!!!) and I treated myself to the very suave but goth charles with tulips from Tiddly Inks on my birthday, He is just gorgeous. As I was colouring him with his blue tulip and blue tinted hair all I could think of was Edward from twilight or Keanu from the matrix , both yummy!!!! He actually has a clear sparkle finish on his face but after no less than 12 photo's I can't get it to show up so I have given up!!!!! I then cut him out and left a little rectangle below his feet that I could fold back to get him to stand up. I placed him on my base so that when the card is folded he just lays down with no squishing of him occurring!!!!!
I googled gothic card before I started to go to far ( I knew I wanted to do an arch shaped card but not quite how!!) and I found this awesome card by a lady called Kriss, here is a link to her gorgeous card. Mine is a little different in size and I kept a square base and also hand drew myself an an arched window frame for the front ,but big huge thanks to Kriss for her amazing inspiration.

The dreamy moon backing paper is from the super freebie that Christy put on the Tiddly Inks paper craft planet group for us, I love it. I re sized it so that it would cover my arch shapes and printed it straight onto both sides of my card stock. I inked the edges with distress ink ( I think it was called denim ...can't remember!!!)

For the inside of my card I cut out one of the moons I had left in my scrap paper and embossed it. I stuck it on my card with silicone and then used some woodware fluffy stuff to get the whispy clouds.
The black swirly floor under charles feet is actually a wallpaper sample that I cut to size to fit my little square!!! ( got to love B&Q!!!) I used it for the window frame on the front too.
Well, I think I remembered everything!!!
Thank you so much for popping in on me, I love all my cyber buddies, new and old to bits and your comments always brighten my day!!

Big hugs, Lou xxxx

a clean craft space, blog candy at Lily-boo too and my first visit to WOYWWAC!!

Well I had a wonderful birthday yesterday. I got some absolutely beautiful cards that I will take piccies of later!!! and I won the Funkyhand challenge!! I was so excited when I read my name !! and what an amazing thing to happen on my birthday too!!
I treated myself to the whole set of new stamps from Lili of the valley and and 10
gorgeous Tiddly Inks digi's.
We went out for lunch at Damon's, yummo!! little Mo and I got to eat free as it was my birthday and kids eat free offer was on too so that was great.
Then I used some of my birthday pennies to get some more worktop for my craft room. I had this little 3ft bit at the bottom where my trofast draws from Ikea were and it just wasn't working right for me so Scott fixed that up and it looks super now. So because Scott made it look so beautiful I decided I had better have a good old tidy!!!!! now I am the first person to admit that it definately won't stay this tidy for long but Oh it looks so good tidy!!!!! romfl!!
I am just in the process of making my cuttlebug embsossing folders look fab using Okie's super duper cuttlebug storage cut file. It looks lovely so far but I have run out of the cardstock I was using!!!
I am also having
a little lily-boo blog candy over on Lily-boo too for my birthday celebration. The girls at Boo HQ are having a very well deserved rest this month so pop over for the chance to win 2 digi sets.
I've always pop over to WOYWWAC and have a look at peeps workspace, so I thought I had better get myself joined in this time, I just know it wont look this good next week!!! I know my little rossette isn't too fab but Mo saw me making it and wanted to help and we had to put a '1 ' sticker on (a la mo) because he said its a birthday!!

So here's my piccies!!!!

Here is the bit where I mostly sit my shelves are full of crafty bits, cricut carts, inks and stuff!!!! My monitor is super as it means I can blog womble in mojo less moments!!! You can just about see all my photo's, I love having my family piccies around my craft space.

Here are my punches , I have bygel pots with some sort of order though they look messy!! there is one for adhesives, one for pens, one for scissors and tools and one for bits and bobs!! I love my really useful storage boxes and my wall cupbaords which house a bit more cardstock....!!!

The bit with my big e and cuttlebug on is the bit Scott put on for me yesterday, Doesn't it look great?!! My new ribbon storage trays are just bygel rail trays from Ikea, but they look super.
By putting the top on it has given me some more storage space. The trays are full of bits and bobs and 5 of them are cardstock...

This is where my dreamkutz, creatopia and jukebox hang out!!

My 12x12 papers live in another cupboard that is behind me when I sit at my craft desk.....but its still messy that side so I didn't take a piccy of that bit!!! romfl!!!!!

Right off for a cuppa and to decide what to do with my last 2 days of holidays. Scott and I both have killer sore throats today so I am not sure what we will be up to!!!

Thank you for popping in on me.

big hugs

Gossmere brings on the bling!!!

Hello peeps!!!

Well here I am on my hols but my wonderful DH has brought his magic internet connection with us, he is a total star, he is so fab he told me to treat myself to the gorgeous new gossmere stamp from Tiddly inks. I think she is just wonderful.

I have given her some bling treatment especially for the 'Bring on the bling' over on the Tiddly inks challenge blog.

For the background I printed out the gossmere digital paper, I love the way it matches her skull on a stick!!!!!! to bling it up I popped it through my creatopia so that the printed side was all glued then I tipped over some gorgeous fine irredescant snow glitter (that I bought for little mo to do his christmas cards with last year!!!! but it is gorgeous!!!) it was so hard to take a picture of!!!!
The frame around her is popped up a little on silicone and it is the sull frame cuttlebug embossing folder. I painstaikingly cut the middle piece out to make the frame and kept the middle piece for the sentiment inside the card!!! ( ooohhh so thrifty thinks lou!!!) but the frame was just so perfect for the card I had in mind.
Gossmere herself is couloured up with promarkers, I blended together burnt orange and honeycomb and I adore the effect I got with it. To add a little bling to her I spica'd up her hair, skull on a stick and tiara and added a bit of rhinestone bling to her tiara too. I put a bit of glossy accents over the top of the stick and tiara. Its a shame because they sparkle so pretty in real life but its so gloomy and wet here that I just can't get a good blingified piccy!!!!!!
Here's the inside with my 'use up the spare bit' idea!!!
Despite the rain we have had a fantastic first day, the boys are happy to just be away somewhere different. We have been for a womble to norfolk lavender and they got their new football trading cards, which they have taken all day to open (7 packets each but they look through them like they re gold dust!!! its so cute!) and we all watched our nanny mcphee dvd (again!) but it has been such a relaxed day. Now it is bedtime the rain has stopped and the sun is starting to shine!!!!!!!!
So, don't forget to click on the linkies and go and check out Tiddlyinks shop and the challenge blog!!
Big hugs,

Lou xx

oooh Pinky!!!

Ok I am blaming Donna 100% for setting me off with these gorgeous downloads from Tiddlyinks!!! I saw Pinky and the skully cupcake paper on her blog and knew and needed her!!!! (Thank you so much Donna, these are just too cute to miss hunny xxxxx)
I had a bag cut challenge to do for the UK crafters thread on the cricut mb and couldn't resist using my little pinky on it. The bag is from TBBM.

Here is a close up of her, isn't she fab!!!

I coloured her up with my promarkers, I decided she needed cool grey 1 coloured skin with a tiny bit of pastel pink on her cheeks. Her skirt is cool grey 2 with antique pink blended in, looks so cool. The skull and her little hair clip I did with pastel biege and then popped some glossy accents over the top to make them pop out a bit!!!

The sentiment is computer generated and then I cut it with my stampin up oval punches.
I am going to be super brave and enter my first ever tiddly-make on their challenge blog too!! The challenge is to make your own backgrund paper so I have used my skully cupcake on the bag flap and my black cardstock is kind of corrugated, hope thats ok!! wish me luck!!!

So get yourself over to Tiddlyinks quick!!!! There are oodles of gorgeous digi's to choose from, my list is 20 long and scott says it needs to be much smaller!!!!! romfl!!!!!!

what a funky day!!!!! lily-boo meets funkyhand!! and my first ever video!!

Hello Peeps!!!
I have had the most lovely day. I went to cricut club and it was my turn to make a little card to inspire the group!!! i have had a lot of baby card requests recently so thought I would top up my stock pile and got out my Lily-boo's boutique Onesie's digi set.
Now for a warning on your purse strings peeps!!!!!!! I watched Anice on c&c tv yesterday morning ( you have probably guessed by now that I lurve funkyhand downloads and cds!!!)
and as normal she inspired me to get funky so I printed myself out a selection of papers from my fab cd's.
For the little patterned onesie's all I did was print out the paper and then pop it back through the printer again to print my little onesie on it. (The sweet baby boy sentiment I made in photoshop and printed onto the plain onesie in the set, I love how you can personalise them easily and it would be great for putting the little babie's names on, awwwwwwww, my head is ticking again!!!)
The tags are cut on my cricut in normal and then shadow function with a bit of a silicone glue sandwich!!!! to make them pop out a bit.
Now, for the tiny little faux brads...... I love card candy from craftwork cards and have almost all the colours, but when i tried one on my little tag it was way too big so I had to do a bit of thinking and try and work out how I could make some of my own to co-ordinate my funkyhand papers!!!!
I used the scraps left over from each card to make these really cute little faux brads and I have made my first ever little video for my blog for anyone who wants to know how to make them too.
It is sooooo easy I just wanted to share it with you all. I am sure I won't be the first person to of discovered how to do this for tiny ones but I was so pleased with myself for thinking of it alone last night and I adore my mini funkyhand brads, they really are super effective!!!!!!
Here's my little video!!! let me know what you think, I love comments!!!

Wordbook!!

Omg!!! my poor blog!! a whole week since I last posted!!!!!!

But I have been busy I promise!! I finally finished my uni work ( lou gulps and hopes her result is a pass!)
And I have been working on this wordbook for a friend at work who wanted someting a bit personal and special for her boyfriend for his birthday next week.

I decided to go for his name for the book. I used my plantin cart in DS to make the book base and for cutting some gorgeous Funkyhand papers ( for the A and E page) the D page is nitwits tailwags paper, I find it so much easier to do in DS as I can shrink them a bit smaller than the base page and get a lovely border. I distressed them all with my yummy frayed burlap distress ink.
For the D page I computer generated a little sentiment and printed it straight onto a tag cut from plantin.

I tore a bit of funkyhand paper ( this one is from the dreams come true cd, darkness lifts section) for the tags for amy to write her personal message on to sit in, I did 2 incase its a long message!!! one on normal and one on shadow as I thought it looked sweet!!
For the N page I used this photo of amy's furbaby, the very gorgeous miss Kiki, with daddy. I love this photo!!! the sentiment is computer generated and printed on a couple more tags, awwwwwwww soooo sweet!!
For the E page I used a piccy of amy and dane, it doesnt look too good from my piccy but is much nicer in real life!! I used the you embossing folder in my cuttlebug, it s such a nice folder.

The hearts embossing on the letters and the D page panel are from the cuttlebug love language set.
Right I had better get Little Mo to school and me to work now!!!!

Have a great day peeps, thank you for popping in on me xxxxxxx

Just Magnolia 'it takes two' challenge.

Morning peeps!!!!!!
It is an absolutely gorgeous sunny morning here today, I love to see the sun.

The challenge over on Just Magnolia is 'It takes two' . So I needed to use 2 magnolia stamps to make my card!!!!!

This challenge came at a great time as I have a poorly friend at the moment (big hugs to denise xx) and wanted to cheer her up with a surprise card in the post.

I had borrowed my friend Fi's magnolia stamps just a couple of weeks ago and had stamped myself a fair few gorgeous ones that I don't have ( thank you Fi!!!xxxx) so I chose a background and this gorgeous tilda with roses. She has the cutest little tag on her bouquet so I carefully wrote 'get well soon' on it. The little butterflies are actually mine!! they were from my yummy magnolia spring club set.

I coloured the stamps up with my promarkers, for the sky on the background stamp I used pastel blue and the big end of my promarker, I wanted a patchy/cloudy sky effect so I just coloured over the image the once hoping it would dry like sky and I was so pleased with the result, its hard to see in the pictures but it did look lovely.

The roses have a gorgeous glisten to them that I put on with my clear at you spica pen by going over the top of them after I had coloured them and the glazed over them with my glossy accents.

The paper on the base is my minds eye and it was double sided so I used a scrap of it to stamp the little butterflies on, they look so cute!!! I punched a scalloped martha border too with the same side to get the little strip across the base and inked it up with my distress inks, as well as the edges of the card. The little bit of natural string is some crochet cotton and the little heart charm is from my stash!!!!!

I popped up the background stamp and tilda with some foam to make them stand out ( grrr hard to take a picture of too but here is my best effort!!) My lovely husband actually teases how many photos I attempt to take before I get what I call a ' good bloggy one!!!!'

.....and here's a little close up of tilda, awwwww she's gorgeous!!!!

Little Mo is a bit under the weather with a cold, we thought it was hayfever until he woke up this morning stuck to his pillow with a runny nose!!!!!!! bless him, so he is just sitting quietly on the settee. He has decorated his bedroom wall with his fab pirate wall stickers from Fi, he loved them!!!! but I am not allowed to take a picture until he has finished decorating so I wonder what he has in mind for when he gets home tonight?!!! I will probably wake up in the morning to find he has brought in the contents of his sand pit!!!!!!!!

Right must get ready for work :(

Thank you for popping in on me,

hugs, Lou xxxx

tilda wedding card.

I made this card for a friend at work who asked me if I could make a special card for her to give her fiance on their wedding day.
I decided to use my new maid marion tilda as she looks a little bit weddingy!!!!! I stamped her on pearlescent paper and coloured her with my promarkers. I have tried to keep in my carrie's wedding colours for this card so tilda is quite plain really, just some blonde hair (like carrie) and a bit of a claret coloured red (i had to do that with one of my whispers pens as i don't have that colour in my promarkers). I cut her out with a scalloped nestie and ditressed the edges a bit with some tattered rose distress ink.
The inside of the card is in a tunnel style with little heart shapes cut out for the windows , I made 3 pages to pop some nice weddingy sentiments in.I used a claret coloured pearlescent paper and my gorgeous martha punch, I kept the little hearts that come out of the punch to make the confetti to stick on the white card.
I wrote the little sentiments on my computer and got scott to play with the document a bit so I could print straight onto the cardstock to keep it really neat and tidy.
Then I glued all the pages together with my atg (ooooh made it so much easier to do!!!)

I made a base for the card pieces to sit in on with my scorpal so that I could make a flap to close over the card, I think it looks really pretty. I put a strip of punched martha hearts border on it and the claret paper under tilda is embossed with hearts. I added a strip of organza ribbon and a bow on the front too.
When i had finished it I ditressed all the edges with tattered rose as it softens the sharp edge and I decided it looked more romantic!!!!!
I hope carrie likes it!!!!
Heres a close up of tilda, she looks so sweet!!!!

Well now I've bored you with piccies of my card I am going out to make another card!!!

Thankyou for popping in on me xxxxxxx

Lili of the valley summer feel challenge!!

Morning peeps!!!!
Lili of the valley challenge blog were looking for a card with a summer theme and being as I have 20 or so summer birthdays to prepare for I thought this card would be perfect!!!!

I used this cute little crab from Lily-boo's under the sea digi set, it has such cute summery under the sea pictures with oval frames around them, I love it, I have to admit I was stuck between using the crab or the mermaid but I decided on the crab as I could make him a snappy birthday sentiment on my computer!!!! I coloured up my digi with my promarkers.

( coral for the crab and leaf green and honeycombe for the fishies, leaf green and holly on the greeny weed and pastel blue for the water, buttercup and sandstone for the sand)
When he had dried, I covered the crab in some glossy accents to make him pop out a bit!!!
I decided on a step card so I could put some waves on it and cuttlebug embossed a bit of card for behind the oval with my tiny bubbles folder.

I used my martha loop punch for the 'waves' and rubbed a bit of blue ink on them then went over the top with a bit of frayed burlap distress ink so it didn't look to shiny.
I used a bit of my garden twine to wrap around as i thought it looked a bit like fishermans rope and it gave me a sea feeling!!
I popped a couple of eyelets into my crabby oval and popped some twine through there too.

Well Little Mo is terribly excited about going to Longleat today (......hence the early morning posting on my blog as he got up at about 4:30am this morning......) I must admit I am rather excited myself but ever so slightly worried about the gorilla island and sea lion bit as you have to get on a boat to see them, I do not do boats, not even a little squidge, I am terrified of them, its the water thing for me, so that might have to be a mummy cup of tea moment!!!!!
Thank you so much for popping in on me.
Big hugs,
Lou xxxxxxx
