Altering canvas...

Morning everyone.
Its time for a new sketch over on the Fetch a Sketch challenge blog and until I got up this morning I didn't think I was going to make it in time to get my DT make done but as I was looking at the gorgeous sketch a little idea popped into my head of something I wanted to make.
I sneakily pinched one of Mo's little canvases and got to work distress inking and crafty notions spraying until I was happy with the effect. A little stamping around the edges and a few punched hearts glued together to 3D them and it was done.
I just needed to photoshop a piccy of my little girl and boy with aged newspaper effect, print it out and stick it on with some collal photo glue and it was done!
So here is the fabulous sketch that got me going this morning, and huge huge thank you's to Jenny for it or I would still be stuck in my not feeling like crafting funk after having to say goodbye to my gorgeous girl this weekend xxxxxx

Remember that you can flip the sketch, rotate the sketch, resize it and make any type of project you like with it - as long as we can see the original sketch in your creation we'll be happy!

We have a brand new sponsor to Fetch A Sketch - Ladybug Crafts Ink and Kerry is generously offering the winner of this challenge a £10 voucher to spend in the store!

Well, its Aunty Duty for me today! best get myself moving really and the car is going in for its MOT so I will need the hugest of luck for that to go ok!!! romfl!!!

Don't forget to pop in on the FAS challenge blog and see the super cute card Ruth made.

Sad days :(

Sleep tight my beautiful fluffy princess xxx
Hello Peeps,
I am so sorry I haven't been around for the last few days. It has been a very sad and draining few days.
Our beautiful fluffy princess Holly has gone over the rainbow bridge now. We had to let her go as her liver and kidneys had started to fail and her calcium level was so very high that the vets equipment could not read it. She was panting heavily and not eating so we had to let her go. She said the cancer had taken too much of a hold and the meds she was on had become dangerous to use as her liver and kidneys were failing.
It was not easy and we were so upset I couldn't even talk to people :(
On saturday morning Holly fell asleep with the help of the vet at 9:30am. Scott, Mo and I cuddled and kissed her the whole time and she was so ready to go that she just snuggled into us all and slipped away.
We were so unbelievably proud of little Mo who did not want to let her go without being with her and insisted on staying. He was so brave and didn't let her see him cry, just stroking her and kissing her tummy as she fell to sleep.
The vet left us afterwards to say our goodbyes and he cried then, telling her "I will so miss you and me snuggling in a morning baby girl". It was heartbreaking but he was so grown up about it. I took him to the park over the road whilst Scott sorted out the paperwork with the vet and he just sat on my knee and cried for 10 mins, then got himself up to play and I think that was just perfect.
I was not so brave and cried for the entire morning!
Today we woke up and decided we wanted to do something special for Holly and for our other dog Zaky who passed away last november so we spent the day making a special bit in our garden for them both and I wanted to share them with you all.

The gladiolas on Holly's side were from our lovely friend next door who bought them over for Holly tonight. She also bought us chips for tea and I can't tell her how lovely and appreciated that was.
Both Holly and Zaky have a little tree and 2 heathers each. I love heathers. Mo wanted his sleepy mole ornament to go in the middle so I bought an extra heather to go behind that too.We also bought each of them a little candle scone for the wall so that we can leave their candles lit but they are safe from little fingers getting them!!!

Both Holly and Zaky loved to woof at the birds and sunbathe against the garage wall so we placed their garden under Mo's bird feeding branches and where their favourite places were. Holly loved to be the end nearest the doors and Zaky loved to be at the other end.
It is amazing how much better we feel now we can look out of the patio doors and see a bit of something to remember them by.
I promise I will be back to my normal bloggy self as soon as I can.
Thank you for popping in on me

oooooh I was in my element 'cos ya'll know I love love love dots!! anything spotty is always going to  be fun! :) and I absolutely loved the image krista drew especially for the Dutch Canary blog. Please pop on over and visit the girls over there, they are just so awesome and you can also read up on the details to get this cutie yourself. I coloured her up with my promarkers (...colours in listy below...) and added a few dots to the red bit on her hat and pinny.

I decided to stick with some traditional dutch colours and tried to keep a little yellow in there for the canary on the basket too!!!

Pins.....its the first time I have ever used them on a card and I actually quite enjoyed tucking them into my little bakers twine bow!! I did however fell the need to colour in some little glass beads to match the colours on the top and then glue them onto the ends of the pins so they weren't sharp and pointy!!

Flowers....OH MY GOSH!! I am totally loving my new Layered Rose die, its just gorgeous and this was the first time I had played with that too, I love how the flower wumpfs up when you emboss it and layer it up.

Here's a little list of the bits I used to make my card...

Mo's thank you card..

Morning Peeps!!

Its midway challenge 31 over on the FAS challenge blog and I had super fun with Mo this morning making a thank you card for my friend..wjo was my boss for many years whilst I was nanny to her 2 gorgeous children who I love dearly. They visited yesterday and gave Mo 2 huge sacks full of books!! Anyone who knows Mo will know that he is a complete bookworm!!

We went straight out with them all and the dogs for a walk across the common so there was no time for Mo to explore the bags last night but Scott snapped this photo at 5am this morning when Mo woke up and headed straight downstairs to explore the bags.....( I love the way his PJ top is inside out and he had tucked himself into the bag to get a good look in there!!!! too cute!!!)

Mo wrote the 'Thank you' himself, I love when he does that,it makes cards so much more personal. He was so excited about all the books in there, all we kept hearing were little 'woohoooos' and 'oooohs' and now he is sat looking through the pile and sorting then=m out!!
And of course I used the sketch I made for our Fetch A Sketch challenge blog sketch this week ...
Remember that you can flip the sketch, rotate the sketch, resize it and make any type of project you like with it - as long as we can see the original sketch in your creation we'll be happy! and don't forget to pop over to the challenge blog and see Ruths card!! its awesome!

I thought using a photo on a card was just perfect for this card and later I am going to try a scrap page with it too!!

We have just got back from an early bird swim with Mo and so I am just having a cuppa and a chocolate croissant before I go on a bloggy womble!!
Thank you for popping in on me!

Get well soon....

Image- Sparkle Nurse from Saturated Canary
Morning Peeps!!
Hope you are all having a super weekend! we are having a really nice, chilling family time weekend and I am loving it.
Yesterday little Mo went next door to play with his best buddy Sophia so I had some fun playing with another of Krista's new images,Sparkle Nurse. My 2 favourite aunties are both awesome nurses so I really enjoyed playing with this one.
I made the backing paper myself in word, making sure to highlight on of the 'get well soon' in red so it stood out a little more.
I coloured her in and cut her out and then embossed one of my big tags with a sizzix folder...can't remember what its called though!! I ripped a bit of paper from my scraps box and then added the cute little sentiment that comes with her...there are 4 I think....

Little Mo is allergic to plasters so we always have some stretchy bandage and gauze in our cupboard which was perfect because I stole some to add to my card base and tags, stapled onto the big tag with kiss shapes for getting well!!!
A little bit of washi tape is always fun to stick somewhere and I love this one which is kinda clinincal looking so that got added to the tag too!!

Right, offto do some reading now. I started the Hunger Games trilogy on Monday night and I am now on the last book, Mockingjay'. I LOVE a good read and have really enjoyed these books, I can't wait for the film to come out here in the UK next week so I can watch the film!!

Thank you for popping in on me!

Hello Peeps!!!

So this morning, with the school terms creeeping back upon us, I am sharing Krista's gorgeous 'sisters back 2 school' image. I love love love this image, its just so cute. I coloured it up a while ago and it was just itching to get onto a card!!

And how cute is the pencil behind my little bow??!!! I made it from one of my cake pop sticks!!!

Saturated Canary new releases...squeeeee!!

Image- Washi tape kinda girl from Saturated Canary

oooooooh I am so excited!! its time for the 4 new gorgeous releases from Krista over in the Saturated canary shop!!! (..I have checked, they are all in there now...quick go buy 'em!!!!)
So huge huge apologies for my only having 2 makies done with them to show you so far, I am hoping Mr. Mojo will stay on a more permanent basis now Holly's meds are kicking in and she is wooferly happy.

The top one...up there^ :) is of course, Washi tape kinda girl and I totally love her and being a washi tape kinda girl she totally needed to be on a smash page!! her blue hair is to match mine which is now a gorgeous shade of midnight blue (.....it looks kinda black but it does shine blue!!) and ripped a few strips of my washi tape to put behind her.I added one of her super cute sentiments to a die cut heart and another one just near my 'giggle' epoxy tag. I glued my string so it looks all wiggly.

The super cutie below is Rollerskating Zombie and omgosh I love her!!! I sooo want to be her when I grow up.....:) :)

She comes with some super cute sentiments too so I chose the 'walker skater' one and then used some staples and a scrap of purple paper from my Funky Hand scraps folder that I made all distressy and added distressed spots in white with a stamp. I love my spooky ribbon from my friend clares shop! its fab stuff!!! I attached the ribbon, image and sentiment using staples and criss crossed them for fun!!

So, stop reading and get on over to the shop to buy them!! don't forget to share your makes on the Saturated Canary facebook page because we love to drool over all your gorgeous makes.

Thank you for popping back in on me again today!
huge hugs Lou xxx

Batty :)

Image- Batty from Tiddly Inks.
Morning Peeps!!
How are you all today? we are doing ok here in our little house. Holly seems quite well this morning and although she won't get better, we are still fixed on making everyday special for her so today we are planning on a nice little womble in the meadow where she loves to go.
My mojo has been very wobbly this week, one minute I have it and the next it has gone, I have spent countless minutes just staring into space on my desk whilst Mo plays but on monday I had the feeling so made you all this Batty card to peek at!!
Now when I first got hooked on Tiddly Inks it was the gothic ones that pulled me in!!! I absolutely adore them and Batty is one of my absolute favs.
I teamed her up with some MME papers. I stamped one of my clear distressing stamps across the centre of the card mat piece, I love this stamp, you can just about see the squares peeking out but it just looks fab to lift the black colour in.
I did a bit of martha punching and then added batty on top of that, then a black cheery lynn french pastry doily die and a bit of raffia. I cut my bow so it looked a bit batty-ish and added a quick bit of doodling and some teeny gems to a couple of the corners.

Right off for a wombley with my precious girl.
Thank you for popping in on me
huge hugs Lou xxxx
