Tailor Tilda....

Magnolia stamps Butterfly Dreams tag die
Hello everyone!!

I had such a wonderful time pootling along with this little card and one of my favourite things from Magnolia stamps....their mini world stamps!! Oh, I just love them because you can fit so much fun into makes with the using your old and trusted Magnolia DooHickey dies. I used the Dream Tags die to pop the super sweet little Tailor Tilda on.

Let's take a closer peek at her with her little sewing machine!! awwww!!!

The card shape is made using the Magnolia DooHickeys Recipe card die. To make the little pink gingham designer paper piece. I used a sheet of my golden oldie 6x6 magnolias paper I cut a piece of it out with the die and then left it in there while I drew around the inside edge of the die with a pencil. I then cut along that pencil line and distressed the edges to get the perfect little matting piece on the card.

I also took some time to make her some little patchwork quilt pieces using the Gummiapan Hens Net die. I carefully lifted it out of my die cutting machine so the pieces stayed within the die so I could get my trusty thin black pen to draw the 'stitches' on. I love how it came out!!

And how sweet does the little Gummiapan Button Heart die look with a little thread through it as an accent on the tab part?

Now, did you all get the Magnolia DooHickeyclub Volume 20 Magazine? ooooh, I so hope you did because it has the most beautiful little pair of scissors and a needle and thread die! they were just perfect for this make! I couldn't believe my luck when I saw them in the set!!!

I used a teeny little brad to put the scissors together and they look so sweet!!

Here is the needle in action too! I had super fun threading it!!

A repeat job of making the matting on some white card worked so nicely for the back of the card and I utilised a few more of those gorgeous little quilt pieces to dress up the corners.

Right, time for me to pootle off!! Thank you for popping in, Huge hugs Lou xxx

Get Whale Soon.............

Good Morning peeps!

I'm so happy to share this little Get Whale Soon make using the super sweet little whale and his sentiment from the Gummiapan Animal Kit sheet B stamp set. It is still one of my favourite sets to use because of those fabulous bold stamping lines you get.

Here's a closer look at the whale! I added a little glossy accent to his balloon, I love it!! I decided to paper piece my elephant to add some extra fun to the card. I love paper piecing and this stamp set is perfect for it with those gorgeous bold ink lines. I stamped him onto a scrap of patterned paper from my bits box and then fussy cut him out with my scissors. I also stamped him out on white cardstock so once I had cut him out with the Gummiapan Animal Kit B Matching Dies he would still stand proud from the little circle of design paper behind him.

I used hot glue to stick the paper pieced whale onto the white die cut so that when it dried he popped out a little. Then I squeezed some glossy accents onto his little spout and arranged some beads from my stash to make him a 3D little spray. To keep those on safe, I then glossy accented over the top of them too.

I love the swooshy font on the Get Whale Soon sentiment, it's so pretty. I stamped it on another scrap of design paper from the same pad in my stash and then cut it with a die, also from my stash...I have a good lot of stash to play with!!!!

I love to liven my cards up by distressing the layers. All I do is run my scissor blade down them to 'fluff' them up. It looks especially nice when you glue a little piece of scrap design paper behind the curled up tears in the paper. I love this effect.

Oooh and don't forget...

Thank you for popping in!!  Huge hugs and squishes, Lou xx

Tilda with dotted boots....

Magnolia Doily Flowers dies.

Morning everyone,

I'm with my Swedish Housecrafts DT post for you today. I was in a wonderful playing mood when I sat down to create this so I decided to alter a little plain kraft gift bag instead of making a card. It's such a lovely way to send off a little gift to a friend.
I love the Gummiapan Hen's Net die tucked in behind the matting layers and the super cute little Gummiapan Heart Button die to 'tie' the twine together. It just creates a little bit more interest in the whole fun scene coming together with the little chick!! sooo cute!!

I used 2 stamps from the Magnolia stamps It's Springtime' release, they really are just totally too cute!! I went for Tilda with dotted boots and one of the chicks from the Cute Chickens set. The littlest chick was just a perfect size to keep Tilda company while she collects her flowers!! Let's take a closer look at them!!....

Awwwwwwwwwww right?!!! I paper pieced Tilda's clothing so she would match into the papers I had chosen to decorate the bag with. Luckily, the fabulous 12x12 Maja Designs Vintage spring basics 10th of March paper gave me plenty of playroom to paper piece and cut out all the little extra flowers too! and look at Tilda's little boots!! I coloured those in yellow with little green dots and then added some glossy accents to make them shine.

I cut the stamped image 'mat' out with the Gummiapan Old paper dies.(..sadly they are out of stock at the minute but hopefully back soon so pop them on your wishlist for when they come back in!).
Then I had some fun die cutting some Magnolia flower Doo hickeys from my stash. These ones are the Magnolia Doily Flowers and they are just a dream to play with. I cut them out, gave them a good spray of glimmer mist, squished them up and then dried them out with my heat gun before unscrewing them.
I gathered 2 together and popped a mini brad in to hold them together and make the flower middle.

And mixed in this one below are the teeny little flowers from the Doo Hickey 14 set. They just finished off the corner arrangement with being so teeny and cute! Oooooh I do love a good play with my flower dies now and again!! you honestly do forget how nicely they come together.

I also used the absolutely stunning Magnolia Bon Voyage Dragonflies. They are one of my all-time favourite Doo Hickey buys!! This is the smaller dragonfly of the 2 and so sweet. I cut it twice and layered it up for some dimension in the wings, and the used a little scrap of the Hen's Net die cut I had leftover from my matting to make the handle of the bag look a little less boring. it looks so sweet.

Corrrrrrrrrrrrrr!! I've spammed you with piccies a bit today!! lol!!! but there were just so many fun bits to altering that little boring kraft bag I couldn't help myself!! I'm going to leave you all in peace from my waffling on now and go and get a cuppa!!

Huge hugs and thank you's for popping in, Lou xxxx

'Cause I love you.....

Morning everyone!

There's just one more crafty day to go until Valentines Day and I have been busying away making Scott's card.

I adore the Magnolia Lovely Emoji's collection and I bought them all last year because there was no way I could choose just a few things!!!

Cause I love you Tilda is my favourite though. There's just something about the way she holds that little heart in her hand that makes me smile.....plus her hair is pretty much like mine right now so I can identify with her!! he he!! I added a little glossy accent to the heart to make it stand out even more, and I doodled some teeny little white hearts onto her socks too....

For a little scenery, I used the Magnolia Doohickey- Lovely Fence die. Now, when you cut it out, make sure you keep all those gorgeous little heart negative cuts that come out of the fence tops. I used these to scatter around my card and to accent a few of the corners of my matting.

For the matting on my card, I used the stunning Gummiapan Dies -Old Paper dies. The effect on their edges is just so pretty. I added a little distress inking with Walnut stain distress ink to them once I had die cut them just to add some softness to the cut edge.

For the sentiment, I just stamped it and cut around it with the edges of one of the smaller dies so that it matched the rest of the matting.

A little lace and twine from my stash just finished it off. The little flowers on the fence are from the Magnolia Doohickey 14 kit. I blooming love that kit.

Right, time to move my booty!!! I need a cuppa and some brekkie!!! Thank you for popping in on me, huge hugs Lou xxx

Wishing you tons of fun..........

Good Morning everyone!

I'm so happy to share this super sweet and jolly elephant stamp from the Gummiapan section in the Swedish House Crafts shop. It is one of the most fun sets I have played with in a while! Just look how cute the elephant and his teeny mouse buddy are!!

Here's a closer look at the little mouse! I added a little glossy accent to his balloon, I love it!!!

I wanted to share a little tip with you for any stamps you may have that have kind of flimsy parts in the but they have a matching die that needs to fit properly too before you cut it out.

I place my rubber stamp on my work surface with the stamping side facing upwards. Then I lay my die over the top with the cutting blade facing upwards too ( because that is the direction it will be facing when it cuts your stamped image out).

Then I take my stamping platform or acrylic block and lay them down on it together and gently push the stamp down onto my stamping platform, taking care not to disturb its placement in the die. Once it is stuck down nicely to your stamping platform you can remove the die, ink up your stamp and stamp away as normal, safe in the knowledge that it will be perfectly placed when you come to cut it out with your die.

I decided to paper piece my elephant to add some extra fun to the card. I love paper piecing and this stamp set is perfect for it with those gorgeous bold ink lines. I stamped him onto a scrap of patterned paper from my bits box and then fussy cut him out with my scissors. Then all I needed was a little glue on my fully stamped image to adhere the patterned elephant over the top!! so much fun!!

I love how the little sentiment in the stamp set goes with the elephant being so big so nicely! It really makes the card come together!

For a little interest, I couldn't resist a couple of little fishtail banners to the card. They just felt right for the party mood!! he he!!!

This is just such a fun set and I can't wait to use the whale next! but for now, I've totally got to get a wriggle on and get a cuppa before the desert in my mouth grows cacti!!!

Thank you for peeking in!! Huge hugs Lou xxx

Wednesday..............

Image- Wednesday.
Sentiment- Waltzing Mouse Peek A Boo sentiments.
Morning all!

It's my Dream Team posting day  for Mo's Digital Pencil tomorrow and I have had some uber spookable fun with Wednesday. As ever...I can't sit on my hands and not share my make right away!! Oh how I love her! she just has that 'whatever' or 'Bite me' kinda face! and I can never resist a bit of Halloween fun!!

Last week we soaked up a whole load of family bubble time with Little Mo while he was on half term.We had a few days up in my amazing Aunty's campervan in The Lakes and did some great walks and exploring. It really is my favourite place up there, plus we get extra Aunty Sally snuggles as we are only 2 minutes away from her house up there! he he! The site we go to is just so beautiful. We get sad everytime we have to come home!!

On Wednesday we all went to Grandad's house to scatter his and Nana's ashes in the garden! Oh my! it was a typical Lou kinda day! We couldn't get Nana out of her ashes container to mix her with Grandad's ashes so my cousin had to saw the top off Nan's container and once he had done that, she was still a little damp (....well 19 years in a black bag in the garden buried where your dogs were buried does that to a special ladies ashes you know!!! those were her wishes though and y'all should have a feel for how we do things in my family now if you've been reading Lou world for a long time! we go with what people want!!!).

Anywho.....Nana's ashes were still to damp to mix so we had to keep popping batches in the microwave to dry them out!! oh my!!!!! My Nana would of absolutely adored that! he loved a bit of drama and especially loved a giggle!! Finally we got them mixed together nicely and all had our own little ginger pot of ashes to take to our own places in the garden. Most of mine went on the special part of the garden where my Grandad made me a special garden for my 8th birthday. He planted a lot of primroses in the shape of an 8 and then lots of pretty flowers around the edge, I absolutely adored it! and I popped some in the part where my fine needle fir tree used to be that I used to have a den in and hide there a lot!! especially when my Aunty got married when I was 3 and I didn't want to have my photo taken so I hid!! he he!! so many special memories were made in that bog ole garden. Little Mo chose to pop his around the tree he never could quite manage to climb and Scott went for around the garage where Grandad kept his cars and some of his pigeons.

Then I took some time to sit in my Grandad's chair in the lounge so I could be 'with him'.I had a really good cry. I've struggled with missing Grandad this week very much. I know it will all calm down and I won't feel this pain forever but for now I am at that terrible longing for him stage.I have been my Grandad's side kick for as long as I can remember. He really was the best (.......teeny me in piccy!!)
Right, I need to go and slice some potatoes and onions for tea and get it popped together with some bacon for a lovely ovenbaked tea.

Thank you for popping in, hugs Lou xx
