Sleep tight my beautiful fluffy princess xxx
Hello Peeps,
I am so sorry I haven't been around for the last few days. It has been a very sad and draining few days.
Our beautiful fluffy princess Holly has gone over the rainbow bridge now. We had to let her go as her liver and kidneys had started to fail and her calcium level was so very high that the vets equipment could not read it. She was panting heavily and not eating so we had to let her go. She said the cancer had taken too much of a hold and the meds she was on had become dangerous to use as her liver and kidneys were failing.
It was not easy and we were so upset I couldn't even talk to people :(
On saturday morning Holly fell asleep with the help of the vet at 9:30am. Scott, Mo and I cuddled and kissed her the whole time and she was so ready to go that she just snuggled into us all and slipped away.
We were so unbelievably proud of little Mo who did not want to let her go without being with her and insisted on staying. He was so brave and didn't let her see him cry, just stroking her and kissing her tummy as she fell to sleep.
The vet left us afterwards to say our goodbyes and he cried then, telling her "I will so miss you and me snuggling in a morning baby girl". It was heartbreaking but he was so grown up about it. I took him to the park over the road whilst Scott sorted out the paperwork with the vet and he just sat on my knee and cried for 10 mins, then got himself up to play and I think that was just perfect.
I was not so brave and cried for the entire morning!
Today we woke up and decided we wanted to do something special for Holly and for our other dog Zaky who passed away last november so we spent the day making a special bit in our garden for them both and I wanted to share them with you all.
The gladiolas on Holly's side were from our lovely friend next door who bought them over for Holly tonight. She also bought us chips for tea and I can't tell her how lovely and appreciated that was.
Both Holly and Zaky have a little tree and 2 heathers each. I love heathers. Mo wanted his sleepy mole ornament to go in the middle so I bought an extra heather to go behind that too.We also bought each of them a little candle scone for the wall so that we can leave their candles lit but they are safe from little fingers getting them!!!Both Holly and Zaky loved to woof at the birds and sunbathe against the garage wall so we placed their garden under Mo's bird feeding branches and where their favourite places were. Holly loved to be the end nearest the doors and Zaky loved to be at the other end.
It is amazing how much better we feel now we can look out of the patio doors and see a bit of something to remember them by.
I promise I will be back to my normal bloggy self as soon as I can.
Thank you for popping in on me
huge hugs Lou xxxx
