Books and Bedhead.....

Evening Peeps!!
I thought I would have another go with a doily tonight and this is the result of my playing!!! :) I just couldn't resist printing out the stunning Books and Bedhead from Krista, I think she is completely adorable...and just incase you haven't played along yet, don't forget our challenge over on the Saturated Canary blog is 'Doilies'.
I have to say I am getting oodles of help in how to use these cool paper cakey things on a card from all the gorgeous entries we have had so far!!....I still have a long way to go though me thinks.

She is coloured up with promarkers and then I masked her to stamp the words on, I love this texty stamp, its awesome!! I distress inked the edges (...of everything :) !!!) with some teadye distress ink and added a little stitchy stamp to the edges of the pink paper.
The papers are some HOTP freebie ones from a crafty mag but ooooh I so need them, they are just my kinda papers!

I decided to add some little roses and fronds too, not sure why but they were sitting on my desk left over from another make and kinda spoke to me in a use me kinda voice.....:)

Right I must get my dopey little self to bed, I am so sleepy my eyes feel scratchy!!

Little Mo's daffodils.

 Daffodils- ©Little Mo!
Evening Peeps!!!
So I wanted to share with you Little Mo's Daffodils. I have to tell you that Scott and I are so very, very proud of this little guy. He struggles with his nerves sooo much and last nights parents evening was just so lovely for us.

Mo decided this morning that he wanted to make my mum a get well card using his Daffodils writing so when I picked him up tonight and his normal teacher wasn't there he was a little worried he couldn't use it, so I asked the classroom TA and she was so lovely, she said yes right away and we sat on the bench in the sun waiting for her to finish her jobs. Mo was so excited. More proud mummy moments were to come when Mo's headteacher came to bring Mo's writing as it was still in her office from when he went to see her this afternoon to receive his Head Teachers Award and merit stickers (oh my, you should of seen his little beaming face when he came out the doors to me tonight with all his special stickers, magic!) She thought his Daffodils writing was very special.
Mo's class TA did us a few copies which was so very kind. We are so blessed and very lucky to have Mo going to such a beautiful and caring school team each day.

When we got home Mo got busy on his card for nannie, trimming, inking edges and best of all, using mummy's ATG gun!!! He put his little bit of writing on first, then he drew his daffodil stems in a green glaze pen. he made his little daffodils with my SU boho flowers punch and I  have to be honest and say I will be totally nabbing this idea!! they are very cute!!!!! I love the way his little mind chugs things through like
"they can't be flat like squished dry ones mumma, they have to be standy uppy ones"
as he shaped the centres around my rubber tipped paper picker!!! CUTE!!!!

So for those of you who are looking at it and wondering what some of it says, I will translate for you!!

'Daffodils dancing like ballerina's
twisting all day long nice
to see as yellow as the bright
sun heads like stars.
Daffodils swing around in the
nice breeze.
The daffodil stem is as green as
a leaf'

Ok, so I am teary!! I am a very daft mummy but I am so super happy and blessed. And of course. Mo wanted me to take a piccy of the special stickers on his school tank top, the card and him for you all to see!!
Thank you so much for bearing with me and sharing in my joy of this special little guy. I love his smile so much.
huge hugs Lou xxxx

Morning Peeps!!

How are you all today? I am a very proud mummy today. Last night was Little Mo's parents evening and I was so nervous about it! we sat down in the hall to wait for our appointment and Mo's head teacher came to see us to say hello and how well Mo is doing this year!! that was lovely and then we went in to see his teacher and she said he is doing really really well too!! I cannot tell you how relieved I am as he still gets so nervous about going to school and change but I love knowing he is happy once he gets there. The only thing he needs to work on is his fine motor control when he is writing, he is left handed so his hand covers up what he has written and he struggles with that.
She showed us an absolutely beautiful poem Mo had written yesterday about daffodils. I am going to ask for a copy of it today so I can show you it because she was so very proud of it.

It was just such a special proud beaming mummy and daddy moment. We had gotten him a new scooter in the sales put away for easter (..mo isn't keen on easter eggs!) so we decided to give him that as a reward. He loves to be outside and he was so excited he was out as soon as he had opened it last night trying it out!!

Any whoo!! enough mummy waffles!! onto my cute card!! a friend at work asked me if I could make her a birthday card to give to her boyfriend (...I know!! get me!!another manly one!!!!!!)
I loved kathy's new sketch over on the sketch file  and here it is, isn't it awesome? I love the layers...though I turned mine into hearts!! If you click on the piccy it will take you straight to the sketch file blog :)
I have 2 favourite parts on this card!! of course one of them has to be that cute, cute, cute little footballer and the other one is the little green field heart with the centre spot on it!! I love my new Big shot!!!! I had so much fun cutting the little hearts out!!
I dug out some 'manly' brown and white checked ribbon and tied a dinky little bow to snuggle the heart!! and a few doodled kisses in some of the hearts too.....:)

Challenges I am entering with this gorgeous little guy are......
I ♥ promarkers-Ribbons and bows
Kathy's sketch file- Tumbling sketch
Creative craft challenges- boys will be boys

Right, time for a cuppa and a Mo snuggle!
thank you for popping in on me!

Ooooooh I am so egg-cited because its Tiddly Tuesday and there is a super scrummy yummy new Wryn in the Tiddly Inks store, squeeeeeee she is just adorable and OMGosh I love her sooooo much!!!!

When Christy sent these through I leapt off my chair, I think I may need to start a W.A. group (Wryn's Anonymous........) because I am seriously addicted to Wryn, she is just soooo cute!!! So, as always I will help you to keep you pennies inside your purses by adding a little piccy linked to where Christy's gorgeous new Wryn is on the shop...........(mwah ha ha ha ha!!! :)..small evil laugh from Lou.....)

I have had a 'new leaf' paper pad in my cupboard that I have been using very sparingly recently but I just had to break out a piece of the glittery paper for this card. I haven't been so sparing in using my lurvely new Big Shot though!! its fab!!! and I used a whole tonne of punches on this one!! :) ahhh, theres nothing like the old fashioned way of crafting :)

I printed Wryn and coloured her up then cut her out with a circle nestie and stamped some little flowery fronds from my SU teeny tags set all around the edge of the circle.
I nestied a lacey circle and also cut out some Lord Timmie tattered flowers, the smallest one on the die, for the orange part of the flower, the kraft coloured middle is my SU Boho flowers punch and the teeny centre of the flower is my papermania mini!!! flower power or what!!! they just all go so awesome together!!

I know you have probably all dissapeared over to the shop now to get this gorgeous new little Wryn haven't you :) if you haven't and you are still reading ....why are you still here...go quick go!!!!! romfl!!!!!!

Little Mo's first card swap!!

Morning peeps!!

This mornings post is a bit more about the cute little guy than me!! its all about his first card swap, organised by Krista from Saturated Canary, over on the Saturated Canary challenge blog.

It was all so super exciting for Mo. He got to swap with Krista's son, Philly. I snapped a whole bunch of photo's of Mo making his card ( which he did all by himself and I love him sooo much for that! he was so proud of himself making a card for his buddy!) and pictures from last night when he recieved his parcel from Philly and I put them in a slide show for you all to see. I hope you enjoy it because it has all been so exciting for Mo!! ....hope it works as it took me all morning to upload!! :)

You need to click on Mo or  the "Little Mo's first card swap" title below the piccy for it to work (...and yup...I did notice after we took the piccies that Mo had put his tennis kit on inside out.....!!!)

I used her Gardener Guy and the Potters Bench for inside the card.

Paper Take weekly challenge blogs - sketch ( who can resist a bit of a dawny p sketch?!!)

Saturated Canary challenge 12- Doilies...

Afternoon Peeps!!

Its time for a new challenge over on the Saturated Canary Challenge blog and this time its all about those .....

Doilies!!!

Now I have to admit to letting out a small whimper of help when I saw this one! lol !!! I don't have any doily dies ( ..but would love some!!) so I had a small panic! then I remembered about the goodness that is the poundshop and popped in to get a pack of cake doilies!!! yey go me!!! I think I got 30 for £1 so bargain!!! I chose the middle sized doily, this is a big 8x8 card.

I printed out and coloured up the awesome Secrets image from Krista's shop. I love, love , love this cute pair. It actually reminds me of me and my big sis (...I of course would be the crazy excited one on the right!!!) and I used a circle nestie to cut it out.

I distress inked my bargain doily with some Frayed burlap DI and then stuck it onto my card base. The papers on my card base were some free HOTP papers and I absoloutely love them (...so will have to get them!!!) The brown velvet adhesive ribbon is MME and I just stiched some pink thread onto it.

I used a little SU sentiment and my lurvely big shot to make a flower for it to hang off. I added a button to the flower centre because I love buttons!!! :)

Here's my little chicks having a good old natter!!!

Thank you so much for all your thoughts and prayers for my mum. her spinal surgery actually took 3 hours instead of the 2 they thought it would take and last night she was in so much pain that she was on an hourly morphine syringe dose. I am at work today but will be waiting for updates from my dad as he will be with her later this morning. The hospital she is in is 34 miles away so he came home last night and will be driving back this morning. Its crazy they don't do spinal surgery in our hospital here in Lincoln :(

Right, then I had better go and see what my other awesomely talented teamies have been making for their doily creations for the challenge...come peek with me...come on lets go, HERE  :)

Thank you for popping in on me

A man card.......arghhhhhh :) :) :)

(just for men colourway)
Morning peeps!!!

How are you all today? Great I hope. I am thinking of my mum today, as I type she will be in spinal surgery having 4 discs removed from her back as she has a tumour that has wrapped itself deep into 3 of then and has attached itself to the 4th. Thankfully they do not think the tumour is cancer but if it is left there it will strangle mum's spinal chord :( so if you have a little space in your prayers today could you please pop my mum in them.

And so on with card Lou!!! ok, so who loves making cards for people and then you get the man card orders and you say " yeah, sure I can whip something up" ...then go into a cold sweat and panic because it is.....de de dehhhhh... A MAN CARD... I do!!!!!! :) I got an order last week for a 6oth birthday card for a dad.

So in order to help me I printed off some of my fav birthday papers from the Happy Happy birthday cd rom. I am determined after drooling over Pops beautiful rectangle cards recently to make more rectangle cards myself, I have loads! they just sit in my cupboard and I kinda shake everytime I pick one up because my dopey head just can't seem to work around them!!!

I decided to make a manly shirt card. I made the shirt and then thought for  a bit of extra fun I would put the 60 inside the shirt on a bit of acetate so it pops up when the shirt is opened (....be warned...when you do something fun like that you will sit and pop it open for no reason then giggle each time.......!!!)

I adhered the shirt to a big tag that I had popped a punched bit of kraft card onto and a bit of ric rac ribbon. I popped some crochet tool around the layers and threaded a kraft paper heart through it, I love that bit, it looks cute!

I cut the word Dad on my cricut in shadow and normal, then layered it up and glossy accented it to make it look shiny.
Here's a piccy of the pop up 60!! too fun!!!

So thats my make for today! Challenges I am entering with this one are...

Dream valley challenges- Just for men
Allsorts- its your choice

I had an awesome night at church last night! the kitchen was all dusty and broken so we had chippy shop chips and mushy peas and the lessons last night were so uplifting. I left church feeling on top of the world.

To get to the village I live in from town you have to go up a long steep hill. As I drove home I noticed an elderly man walking slowly at the bottom of it with 3 heavy looking bags, in my rear view mirror I saw him put one down and rub his hands so I knew they were heavy. I turned my car right around and went and picked him up and man I am so pleased I did because when I helped him take off his back pack it was so heavy.
He had come all the way from California to visit his daughter who lives in my village!! he had come into the train station ( which is quite a way from where I saw him) and our village bus service is so hit and miss. I dropped him off where he asked me to and I am just so pleased I could help him, he was lovely.
He had been travelling for ages, from california to florida, and then onto england, I think there were even a couple more places as he ssaid he had flown in with the navy because he was ex navy. I just feel so happy knowing I helped. I hope he has a lovely visit with his daughter.

Right, I am off to make Mo's lunch for school !
thank you for popping inon me!
huge hugs Lou xxx

Tiddly Inks challenge 81- Fabric Fun...

Morning peeps!!! How are you all this fine Tiddly Tuesday??!!!

Well, its time for a new challenge over on the Tiddly Inks challenge blog this week and our little gang of Tiddly Inkers want to see some....
Fabric on your creations!!
so this week we want to see some yummy ideas for getting material onto your cards/creations.
Oh and there's a new Wryn in the shop too....she's too sweet......love her!! This is Wryn- with a cherry on top.
(Now, not to help you too much but if you click on her it will take you straight to her home in the shop.....:) :) ya'll know I like  to help you out in any way I can..... )

I just had to make a mothers day card with the fabulous 'Take a Stand' digi from the Tiddly Inks bargain basement. I adore the way you can add any message you fancy onto her little sign boards. I added ' I have the best mum' using psp. But fabric was a little more of a challenge for me and I ummm-ed and ahhh-ed about my DT make for so long I was thinking I wouldn't even get one done!! lol!!!...that was until I bought my Big Shot and got some free dies with it :) :)

oooh I got flowers and swooshes and more and because of all the gorgeous free ones I was able to buy myself a Lord Tim Vintage Lace decorative borders die (...yes Lou...that's you enabling me again hun!!!!!)

Scott, Mo and I spent the whole afternoon playing around and cutting out bits of felt and paper to experiment, I love that we all did that together, did I ever tell you I have the best hubby ever? :) and then on saturday night I had a little play on my own with some scraps of felt I had left over. I layered up the blue and brown alternately to make the flower stand out a bit more. The teeny centre of the flower should be a little circle with dots around the edge but I swapped it out with the heart from my swooshey instead, it looks so cute!!

So, please pop on over to the Tiddly Inks challenge blog as the rest of the Tiddly Inking gals are a zillion times  more fabulous than me when it comes to using material and have made some mouth watering yumminess to inspire you all.

Right I am off for a cuppa and a few squooshes with Mo before I drop him off at school and have a plod in the fields with the fluffy princess!
Have a super duper day peeps! and huge thank you's for popping in on me :)
