Quick baby boy card!!!

Well I have woken up feeling a little more alive today (......actually little mo woke me up and I had to be more alive today!!!!!!) The dreaded virus is still hangingaround giving me ouchy pain in my neck, ear and throat but as long as I keep topped up with paracetemol I think I should be ok!!!

So I actually felt crafty this morning and the plus points of having a little man that gets up early is that I can catch up on some things I need to get done.....like this super cute little onesie card made with the gorgeous new onesie set from Lily-boo's boutique.
I printed out the plain one on some pearlescent blue sort of textured card and then used my gorgeous new dreams come true cd rom from funky hand for the blue gingham paper on the card bace and inside the card. The stamp set was a lovely present from a lovely friend for helping with her blog, it is gorgeous and the fabric sentiment was from my stash.
Right, I must dash as I have a wordbook drying (from the dreams come true cd rom too!!, believe me, you really need this cd, took me 5 mins if that to make the base, just need to cut it out and hey presto) that I am hoping to get finished too as I am in the mood!!!!!!
Thank you for popping in!!!!
hugs

Get funky spots and stripes challenge!!!

Woo-hoooo!!!! I have made something !!! yey!!!!
Here is my entry for the Get funky challenge blogs January challenge of spots and stripes!!

I had to head straight for my salt and pepper download from the funky hand shop. I can't wait for the new cd to go on sale it looks fabby from the snipets I have seen from the funky hand DT members and have got my pennies put aside ready!!!!
I needed a little break from my uni assignment and I decided to get myself out of my comfort zone of cards and challenge myself to do a scrapbook page ( I think this is the 5th page I have ever done so I am getting there!!!) The salt and pepper download colours matched really nicely with a photograph I wanted to use.

This picture of Ryan is my favourite picture of him we have so far and when we showed it to all the family everyone kept saying "doesn't he look so grown up and handsome"
I printed out my 2 sheets - 1 spotty, 1 stripey from my salt and pepper and gave them a good scrunching up to grunge them up a bit!! Then I straightened them back out and rubbed them with my file to scratch ad distress them a bit. Ryan likes cool stuff like that so I figured it would be perfect for his page.

Then I did some tearing and inking to get the cool edges and popped them onto my white 12x12 cardstock, I inked the edges of that too. I ripped a couple of strips of the stripey piece to get a couple of layers on the bottom part of the page and put one of the strips over the photo using a couple of screw brads. I used the left over bits to make a funky flower and for the centre I used a screw brad ( I had to keep it 'manly'!!)
Then I inked up some alphabet squares saying " all grown up and handsome" and popped them on the top half of the page. I only inked the edges of the "ryan" on the photo as I wanted to keep them gentle with the white on the photo.
I doodled a bit around the edges with my white gel pen and I think thats it!!!!
Thank you for popping in on me xxxxxxx

lily-boo too january challenge.

Oh my, christmas and new year seem to have gone past in a complete whirlwind in the daubney household!!! my feet are just coming back down to the earth.

Happy new year everybody!!!!

The new challenge is up on our lily-boo too challenge blog,it is Valentine this month and I went with the gorgeous little love tree from little birds collection from the boutique for my card.
The little image is an oval shape so I just printed it out. coloured it and popped it on a nestie scalloped oval. I made the base of my card with some brown kraft card popped through my cuttlebug with the love language hearts embsooing folder, i did the same with a little rounded rectangle cut on my cricut and inked it a tan kind of colour to match the little ribbon.
The sentiment is computer generated, I love doing them on my computer as there are so many super fonts for free out in cyberspace!!! (I think this one was a dafont one!!!!)
I have managed to dig out a freebie for the boutique that might help you on your way to joining in with the challenge over on lily-boo too, i might have to make another myself with this little cutie so go and have a peek. There are some lovely collections coming up so keep an eye on the boutique!!!!!

Male birthday cards.....arghhhh!!!!

Oh boy do I find male birthday cards hard!!!
This one is for my BIL and I saw the idea on susan's blog, big thanks susan, you are so clever. I couldn't see any measurements so I guessed a bit!!!! but it turned out so cute.

I cuttlebug embossed a little strip to hold the easel folds when the card is opened. I did all this and then totally forgot to put it in the mail, so sending big apologies to rich for my dippyness xxxxx
I have has some terribly sad news today, a crafting friend of mine who was on lily-boo's first ever DT has passed away suddenly. My thoughts and prayers are with her family today. Eileen was such a lovely lady and very talented. I am so shocked and saddened by her passing.
Much love to you Eileen, rest in peace hunny.

my first fabric card!!!!

Oh I am so excited!!!!! I have been saving really hard for ages to get an xyron creatopia and on sunday it finally came to the UK and I bought it!!!!!! and oh my goodness it is awesome!!!! Heres what I made!! my first ever fabric card!!!
I used the fabric adhesive to make this little christmas card for my Aunt who is 97.I had this scrap of fabric and I have to admit it is not my normal choice of pattern but I know aunt Audrey will love it. I got the little holly leaves from lakeland plastics a couple of years ago, the organza ribbon is papermania and the buttons are from my stash.

I put the fabric through first and then swapped my cartridge out and put the permanent adhesive one in, I put 2 beermats through along with all the embellies ( buttons included!! i love this machine!!) and a couple of pearly green bits of cardstock to cover the insides of the card as i cut my fabric big enough fold it over the edges for a neat edge.

I put it all together and rounded the edges with my corner chomper. I doodled a little gold edge around the front of the card and put a couple of small holes in with my big bite and to tie the 2 pieces together I use some lovely stretch gold cord. Inside ( which i forgot to take a picture of,derrrrrr!!!) I adhered some gold vellum with some gorgeous christmas peel off sentiments.

I am so pleased because I always find vellum a bit of a pain to stick but all I did was pop it in the creatopia and hey presto!!! even on the organza ribbon you can't see any lue and it isn't at all sticky to touch when you have popped it on!!!! ooo h I love it!!!!!!!!

Thank you for popping in on me, I'll be back soon when I can pull myself away from my creatopia, it is going to be so cool for all my fiddly cricut cuts!!!

oh baubles!!!

Hello everyone!!
I am just about defrosted from watching Ryan play football this morning!! my nose and fingertips are still cold but I had to get off the radiator to take a picture of this little guy to share with you all!!!!
I bought a pack of glittery baubles last year with the intention of popping pictures of our family in for the christmas tree (.....I haven't gotten round to that yet!!) and I was just playing with my gingerbread men collection from lily-boo's boutique and had a bit of inspiration!!!!!!!
I did a bit of cropping and resizing to get him down to the size I wanted to fit him into the bauble and then coloured him with my promarkers. I popped a bit of glaze on his eyes, mouth, bow and buttons and then glittered around him with fine irredescent glitter ( hard to see in the picture!!)
Then I popped him into the bauble and made some holly from 2 mini holly leaves and 2 mini red jingly bells!! I popped some stickles on the leaves to snowy them up a bit and then tied some fluffy ribbon to the hanger bit!!! I think he's cute!!!

and here he is just on his own!!!

The most super day!!!

Hello everyone!!!

I have had the most super day!! I went to my first ever crafty club!! yey me!!! Anyone who knows me personally will know I have a bit of a nervous thing and struggle to get myself to go for things but my amazing DH Scott told me that I needed to do some things for me so when ali said they were having a crafty club I signed up!!!
Today we made tag books. I have made mini tag books before and other kinds of tag books bt i have never really embellied up the pages so this was a new thing for me!!! I love new things, they keep up my inspiration for all things crafty!!!
This one os for some very dear friends of mine who have just had their first baby boy. He is the star of the book on the first page!! The book itself was made with a 12x12 piece of card stock, (i broke into my stroke it only basic grey for this one!!!) and used my forever friend baby paper.
The tags were cut on my cricut from TBBM, in shadow and then normal to get the little decorated paper on. The gorgeous bear is from nitwits and the ribbon I got from a shop in the UK called 'Boyes' (its a bit of everything kind of shop!!)
The stamps are my very lovely present from andrea, thank you andrea, they are gorgeous xxxxxxxx

Here’s the front of the tag book.
