Jubilee Year Inspired Baby book :)

promarkers-
blush, sunkissed pink and coral- skin
pastel blue, denim blue and midnight blue-hat
lipstick, berry red and crimson-romper suit

Morning Peeps!!!

Its Friday morning and I can't wait for the weekend to begin because Little Mo breaks up from school toady and the easter holidays start! Next week I have Mo, Boo and Jake and I can't wait, it seems like so long since we all had some holiday fun and I love Aunty Duty having my niece and nephew here :)

So onto today's little share!! one of my lovely friends at work is having a little boy in June and asked me if I could make her a little book for her to start recording some memories in.

Then I extracted a little more info on what she wanted from Gabby :) and she said she fancied a union jack kinda theme with red, white and blue pages. I was rather excited about this idea and knew right away which little stamp I wanted to use! Baby blanket from LOTV is one of my oldie but goodie stamps and one of my first ever LOTV buys!! just look how super cute he is!!!! :)
I paper pieced my little baby blanket up a bit too. I stamped him on a scrap of the blue to get his blanket and then printed out a googled union jack flag for his hat! Love it!! I just stamped on the flag and cut it out.

I knew exactly what I wanted to do and hit my Funky Hand Craft the Year Away papercraft factory for my papers ( this way I have an endless supply of the same papers and if Gabby ever needs a few more pages I can click and print them right away :) yey!!! )
I made some union jack bunting and then my Tim Holtz chip block alphabet to add the word 'BABY'. I used my SU pennants punch to make them and I have to admit, I love it!! its too cute!! I added some thread and tied little knots to each top corner of each pennant, then a little red button to each end and attached it with my hot glue gun.

And here's a piccy of the front of the book with its protective cover on. I cut a clear cover for it from some clear acetate. One for the front and one for the back too just to protect it a bit. I also stamped a little baby sentiment onto a tag as a little extra pressie from me :) I love this sentiment. The light kept bouncing back off it a bit but it gives you an idea of the cover to protect it anyway :)
The cover bases are made with a thin chipboard my friend Shirley sent me from america a while ago, its fantastic stuff! it was just going to be thrown away so I am so pleased Shirley rescued it!!!

The challenges I am entering with this jubilee baby book are .....

Right, off to get myself ready for work and hope for a quick day :) :)
Thank you for popping in on me

Saturated Canary Challenge 14- Thinking Of You...

***this is my 2nd post for today so if you are looking for Christy's birthday post, scroll down:)***

Afternoon Peeps!!
I am back with my Saturated Canary Challenge post! This week our challenge theme is....

Thinking Of You

I used one of Krista's gorgeous new releases, Lala, for my card. I just love how she looks so thoughtful and her hair is just devine. I coloured her up with my promarkers and then used some of my MME papers for the card. The pennants are made with my SU pennants punch and the letters are from my Tim Holtz chip block strip (...yeah...again!! he he eh!! I may be addicted!!!)

I am very lucky to have 2 gorgeous little sisters that Lala always reminds me of. My sisters are called Colette and Priscilla and I love them so much. I am super excited because my Dad is coming home from the seychelles at the end of june and is bringing my littlest sister with him too :) :) :) I can't wait as I haven't seen her in person since she was 10. Dad moved to the seychelles when my baby sis was just 4, she is 16 now so I need to get a whole lot of big sis cuddles in!!! sadly my stepmum won't be coming and I miss her so much too so this card will be going off in the mail to her whilst Dad and Colette are here to cheer her up because she misses my Dad terribly when he comes here to the UK to visit.
This is my fav picture of my little sisters and my stepmum together...
So all you need to do to join in with us over on the Saturated Canary Challenge Blog is get your fav Krista Smith digi or Simply Sassy stamp and make a 'Thinking Of You' creation to share with us :)

Don't forget to pop in on the challenge blog to see what my gorgeous teamies have created. they make me drool every week so I think its only fair you should drool with me :)

Happy Birthday Christy xxxx

Papers- Rainbow Polkadots from Funky Hand.

Morning Peeps!
This mornings post from me is all for my gorgeous Boss Lady Christy from Tiddly Inks. Happy Birthday my sweet and lovely Christy, love you tonnes hun xxxxxxx

For my card for Christy I just had to use Pinky. She is the image that led me to Tiddly Inks and thus Christy. From the moment I bought Pinky I have been completely hooked on them!
Red and black are Christy's fav colours so they just had to get some usage too..and those Tim Holtz tattered floral flowers had to be used with some gorgeous black bling for centres, Tim Holtz chip block strip for the letters for Christy's name.
I mounted Pinky on some red and black deckled rectangle nesty cuts and then topped those onto a doily that my friend Hayley gave me last week ( I am so getting some more of those!!). The gorgeous crushed velvet ribbon was a gift from Ruth and oooooh you just have to stroke it loads!! :)

So thats Christy's birthday card. Christy hun, if you are peeking in this morning I still need to mail this card so it will be late but like having a second birthday when it gets to you :)  :)

Now before you go off to read some more blogs don't forget to pop over to the challenge blog because this morning we will be kicking off with some awesome creations for our awesome Christy from the Tiddly Inkers and the chance to win a gift certificate for the Tiddly Inks store!!! wohoooooo!!!
You won't want to miss it peeps, especially if you love Tiddly Inks images as much as I do :)

Well, I have to get my butt into gear now and get ready for work. Mo is so ready for the end of term tomorrow, he is tired out and beginning to look a little pale so I know he is ready for a little holiday and some mummy time :)

Thankyou for popping in on me this morning, I will be back later with my Saturated Canary challenge post.

Tiddly Inks challenge 83- Birthday Bash!!

Image- Lilli Claire- Party Time from Tiddly Inks
Papers- Rainbow Polkadots from Funky Hand

Morning Peeps!!!
Its Tiddly Tuesday and its a kinda exciting one as we are getting ready for a bit of a celebration month for April...due to it being our gorgeously talented Boss Lady's birthday....very soon!!!!
So what do the Tiddly Inkers want to see from you over on the Tiddly Inks Challenge blog this challenge? we want you to.....

Create a BIRTHDAY card using any Tiddly Inks image!!

Simples!!! but totally and utterly fun! I love love loved this challenge!
I was inspired by a few things for this one. The first thing was Christy's birthday, I went for her fav colours for this card which are red and black. The second thing I was inspired by was our very own crazy talented Jen's Sketch from a couple of weeks ago, I loved it so much ( thank you Jen...mwah xxxx ). Then there was of course the dots...ooooh I love dots so much!! so I of course had to head staright for my Rainbow Polkadots from Funky Hand, I love those too!!!! so I guess you could say this is a card full of love :)

I kept Lilli Claire quite mono using my promarkers, cool grey 1-5 and reds- lipstick, ruby and crimson. I really do like the effect of cool grey on skin, it looks yummy. The little dots on her skirt are red glitter pen, topped with a glaze pen so they 'pop' out! cute! she is also surrounded by starburst pen glittery dots but man they did not want to show up,grrr!!

Then I had some fun with my big shot making some yummy tim holtz tattered florals flowers, I added a teeny papermania punch to the middles too and a yummy swooshy thingy to sit behind them!!

The 'happy birthday' sentiment is from Funky Hands Now Thats Funky cd. It was one of my first funky hand buys and I still love it!!...see more love!! :)

OK so that's me for this morning, I have a tonne of stuff to do today before I take my mum to the hospital at lunch time. She is not doing so good with the pain from her spinal op, so its off for a good check over for her! hopefully they can sort her out a bit!

Please don't forget to pop on over to the Tiddly Inks Challenge blog and see what my gorgeous teamies have got to show you all too!

Huge hugs Lou xxx

They will be out at 6pm EST :) squeeeeeeeeeeeee !!!! and even more exciting.....

You have the chance to win the Usherette image from Krista!!!
All you need to is leave me a comment on this post and Mr. random generator will pick a winner for me!!
comments close on sunday.

Please remember to check out the rest of the girls creations with their digi requests too, you can find them all listed in this post on Krista's blog.

So my request was for an Usherette as my little brother ( ...and his band of fabby employees and a whole tonne of volunteers!!) are going to renovate the ritz cinema here in Lincoln! its a huge job as such a lot needs doing and they are awesome undertaking it so I wanted to make my little brother a little surprise card with a movie theme for the start of the work ahead.

I printed her off as fast as lightening and got busy!!! I used my promarkers to colour her up and then masked her off so I could get a distress inked background. Around her are dots of red, gold and blue copic spica glitter pens, they sparkle sooo pretty IRL.

I merged her into a film strip.png and fund some tickets on google that I printed out onto white paper, inked and then screwed up and inked in a darker colour..that was fun!!!
The absolutely awesome movie themed dp was a freebie from Create with TLC. I think it is the most yummy paper for movie cards!! I love it!!

I also added a Tim Holtz weathered clock die cut and some Tim Holtz chip block alphabet to make the 'Movie Night' sentiment, which I then gave a good coating of crackle glaze!

ooooh I love this Usherette!! don't forget to leave a comment to be in with the chance to win her for yourself!!! :)

I spy a birthday card!!

Morning Peeps!!!

OOOhhh its so gorgeous here this morning! the sun is shining bright and its quite warm. I took the opportunity to snap some piccies of my spy wryn birthday card, its sooo nice to just click and go rather than messing about with my lights and tent! oooh I love sunny days :)

So this card is for my bosses little girl whose birthday is coming up. She is super into spies and all things secret agent and gadgety at the moment so my boss asked me to make a spy themed card and I have to say I had squillions of fun making this card!!!

I love the little top secret file bit! its so cute. I am waiting for a little piccy of Millie to pop inside it with a paper clip, but I have stamped the birthday sentiment in there already so as soon as I get the piccy it will be ready to go.

Its a huge 8x8 card so there was plenty of room for me to play at spoldgy fingerprints and distressing to make it look all secret!!! love it!!!

Inside I had space to make a little hidden bit for Millie's mummy and daddy to write her a message! cool!! you  just lift the flap ....
to reveal a secret place to write!!
I think the James Bond style swooshy circle I merged Super Spy Wryn into is way too cute!! I just googled James Bond in images...gotta love google!!!

Right then, its time for me to gather up a little Mo and a fluffy princess Holly and get ready for school and walking! I am going to love plodding along the fields in this beautiful sunshine this morning then its back home to work on some special bits ;) oooh you will love them!!!...new wryns ...wohoooooooo!!:) :)

Thank you so much for popping in on me with all your lovely comments, I can't tell you how much they mean to me.

Super Spy Wryn....

Morning  Peeps!!!

How are you all this fine Tiddly Tuesday?? :) I am so super excited because there is a gorgeous new Wryn out!!
Now I love Christy so much because a couple of weeks ago my boss asked if I could make a spy card for her little girl who is into all things Spy!! so I emailed Christy and begged for a Secret Agent/Spy style Wryn and omgoodness did she deliver!!
I actually squeeled when she arrived in my inbox!! isn't she awesome!!

...I have linkied the picture to help you to get to her.....quick :) :) I am so thoughtful!!!!

This card isn't the card I have made for Millie, I am saving that one for later in the week!! but I cannot tell you how much fun this little Wryn is to play with!!

I made my own backing paper by googling 'Top Secret'. I printed it onto white card, then added my circley distress stamp over the edges and then came the really fun part....splodging my inky fingers all over it for fingerprints!!!! he he he he!! I am such a big kid!!! It brought back awesome memories of me,my brother and my sister going round collecting peoples finger prints on little strips of paper with squares drawn on so we could identify them!!! ahhh happy days!! :)

I added some alphabits from the Funky Hand Steam Funk download to spell out 'SSHHH'. I punched them out with my teeny sqaure punch and inked the edges, popped them up on some foam squares and then splodged them onto the card to follow the shape of the top secret sign.

Wryn is coloured up with my promarkers in some lovely secret agent colours!! I used..
sandstone, cocoa and burnt sienna for her trench coat, boots and hat.
cool grey 1-5 for her dress, briefcase and glasses.
apricot, ginger and spice for her hair.

So thats me for today. I have a bit of an icky tummy today but I am still feeling much happier in myself today. I had a pep talk from my BFF yesterday morning and I know I can face this head on now. I don't know what I would do without her. Love ya Fi xxxxxxxx

Off to get the little man ready for school now! have a fab day peeps and quick...go get that Super Spy Wryn!!!!
huge hugs Lou xxxxx

Mo in the daffodil field, Mothers day and stuff!!

 Mo in the daffodil field!
Hello Peeps!
here in the UK, its Mothers Day today and I have had the best day so I wanted to share it with you all.

It began with being woken up to a breakfast tray that held marmite on toast (my favourite brekkie) and acup of tea. Mo was beaming with the hugest smile and said

" I love you mummy. Its a mosey made breakfast mummy! I had help with the tea though!"

Then it was off to Twycross zoo. Scott took his camera to try and catch a few piccies of me and Mo so there are 2 here of us playing on the space net!! Mo loves it when I bounce him on it,he giggles so much we think he is going to let go!!!! :)

I love this one!! its so cute!!
Anyone who knows me will know that I totally don't do having my own photo taken so these ones will be treasured!

So the stunning piccy right at the top of this post was taken by Scott, this is how it came about.
When we got home there was time for a quick cuppa before we needed to take the fluffy princess Holly out for her walk. The sunshine was beautiful so we headed off for our viking way walk and when we got there today we saw a whole field of daffodils! Well, Mo and Holly were off to explore that like a shot!! Scott and I couldn't keep up with them running down the field!! (..how is it that when you are 7 and running full pelt down a bumpy hill you stay upright...when you are 34 and attempting to walk down the hill you splonk over a few times before you reach child of 7...!!!)
By the time we had reached Mo at the bottom he was in awe of all the daffodils and had sat himself down right in the middle of a huge patch. He was looking at them, deep in concentration and so gently, it was so lovely to watch and he sat there for ages whilst Holly lolloped in and out of all the clumps and played in the sunshine.
Scott snapped a few piccies of Mo and then Mo wombled around the field choosing some daffodils for me to take home.
I love days like this so very much. I will treasure them forever, safe in the knowledge that I didn't miss them or pass them by. Mo will be little just once so I am going to treasure as many moments as I can, give him my time whenever he wants it, do the things he needs and wants to do (...within reason....popping to the moon just for the day and being home for sleep time at night might be tricky....) I love him sooooo much and I am very proud to be his mummy.

Thank you for letting me waffle on and share these special piccies with you. They will definitely be getting scrap paged/ smash booked soon!!
Happy Mothers Day to all of you too!

Huge hugs Lou xxxx

Viki the Viking....:)

 Image- Viki the Viking..
coming soon to a Krista Smith Saturated Canary Digi's near you!! :)

Evening Peeps!!!
How are you all this fine friday night/ morning depending on where you are in the world!!!

I have to share with you all that this week has been a really hard one emotionally for our little family and I have had some very sad days. Yesterday I needed me some girly time and I got out my art journal to soothe myself a bit.

This gorgeous little image is called Viki the Viking and she is one of the new releases coming up from Krista is just what I needed to perk me up. I was inspired by one of the passages from the bible we were unpacking in church on tuesday night. I knew what I wanted to do right away.

A good old splodging of frayed burlap DI and magnolia swirly stamping around my pages and then a bit of Tim Holtz vintage lace border down the centres, a weathered clock, some waco pearl pen and and that was the base to my pages. I also splotched some crafty notions spray over the top, it is actually a gorgeous shimmery bronzey colour in the light but it wouldn't show in the picces :(

I typed out my passage, The armour of God (ephsians 6: 13-17) and then snipped it all up! I inked the edges, popped some glue on and squooshed it all around the page. have you ever noticed how much it cheers you up just to squoosh things around with no real layout? (...its so funny though because once I had finished I noticed my little subconscious had been following its own pattern!!)

Here's a close up of Viki....

Isn't she adorable???!!! she is a complete must peeps!!
the font I used is called Viking and is free from dafont, I love the way it fitted perfectly with my little Viki, perfick!!!
Please excuse my piccies but I keep forgetting to charge my camera so have been using my old one and I just can't get the focus as good as my newer camera!!!

I want to enter this is for Papertake weekly- one for the girls. I really enjoyed making a girly page for my journal and it really did cheer me up a whole tonne ( thank you krista, love yah, mwah xxxx) and the 4 crafty chicks challenge -Girls Rule!...well if this little chick doesn't scream girl power I don't know what will!! :)

thankyou for peeking in on me, you don't know how much ya'll cheer me up with your comments in tough times

Saturated Canary Challenge 13- Twine....

Papers- HOTP Nostalgia.
promarkers-
vanilla,putty,caramel-hair
blush,sunkissed pink,coral- skin
midnight blue,denim blue,pastel blue-jeans
sandstone,cocoa,burnt sienna-top
almond-sleeves,envelope
antique pink-heart
Afternoon Peeps!!!

Its time for a new challenge over on the Saturated Canary Challenge blog and this week its all about..

Twine

Now, no giggling allowed but I am very behind the times and have not yet managed to buy myself any bakers twine...I don't know why!! I see it and I love it but I haven't actually treated myself to any yet!! I am soooooo slow!!!

So for my DT make I turned to my trusty gardeners jute twine!!! yup! here it is in all its finery......
I have had this ball of twine for over a year now! I use it tonnes and it is still going strong!! OK so I don't use it on the plants where I am supposed to and its probably not made with cardmaking/scrapbooking in mind but it makes such a cute addition to cards and I have a thing for natural stuff!!

Anywhoo, I printed out Krista's gorgeous Love Letters image because this card is for a friend to give to her mum for her birthday and I thought Love Letters was just perfect.
I coloured her up with my promarkers and then got out what is left of my gorgeous HOTP Nostalgia papers freebie ( I am so going to have to buy these papers because I just love, love, love them!!)

I carefully snipped around the flower and stitching on the topper shape and slid my little chick under it! I really like how that came out because it looks so pretty and like it should be there. I added a few flowers and a little pearly heart charm to the top right corner to balance it all out a bit and hey presto it was done.

I am entering a couple of challenges with this one...(though I will be linkying them in when I get home from work as this is a little scheduled post!!)

Cute Card Thursdays- birthday/celebration

Don't forget to pop into the Saturated Canary challenge blog to drool over the rest of the gorgeous DT makes (....yup, I have to stroke the screen every time its a new challenge just to see if their awesome talents can rub off on me a bit!!!) I love poppping in and seeing what you all make.
Oh and start saving those pennies because there are some super cute new SC images on their way soon!!
Thank you for popping in on me :)

This pink patch gives me both gothic and gorgeous so I love, love, love it! I did add a freebie .png heart from Create with TLC onto this one before I printed it out and then used a bigger one popped out with a heart brad in to embellish the card, with a nice pink and black flower on the other corner to balance it all out. I love how this all came together. A little few doodley dots around the corner of the black mat and it was all done.

Pop's inspired pen storage and Mo surfing!!!

Morning Peeps!!
Its a quicky dash in for me this morning as Little Mo and I are waiting for his friend Sophia to arrive for breakfast!!!

I just had to share with you the new promarker pen holder Scott made me last night. My old one was absolutely gorgeous but totally full so I had lots of pens in a tub underneath so when my gorgeous friend Pop's shared a picture her new promarker storage box she had made with a fish egg filtery tray (...I bought 2 trays so I can make a little movey box too!!) the little cogs in my head started whurring as to how fab it would be to use one in my crafty room too to replace the overflowing one.

Poor Scott, we had such a busy day yesterday but he is just the most awesome person and it was done in 30 mins!!!!! we cut the tray in half using a hack saw blade (...woodcutter style with me holding one end and Scott holding the other!!!!), then he popped one piece straight onto the wall and then attached a thick strip of wood over the top. Then he attached the next piece over the top but up a little so that the pens slide in and have support so they don't wibble out whenever I pull a colour out!!

Please excuse the disasterous mess underneath...I will tidy that today.....:)

I am so pleased and mega, mega thanks go to Pop's for sharing her awesome box. Today I will be popping my gel pens and a the few copics I have in the bottom rows that are stuffed in a box under my craft desk, it will be so lovely to have them all out so I don't have to dig through the box!

Wowzers was yesterday a beautiful day!! it was so summery here that we bundled off to the beach! Mo wanted to do some surfing, which he got busy with as soon as we got there!!! he stripped off to his swimmers faster than lightening and was off in the waves before we got half way down the beach!! he loved it!!
Here he is waiting for the wave....:)
There were hundreds of starfish washed up on the beach, due to the full moon and low tide. It was just so exciting for Mo! he loved looking at them all, though there were plenty of "eeeeuuuuuuw"s when there were huge ones!! he definitely prefred the little ones!! anywhoo, this is a piccy of our favourite one. Mo spent ages looking at this one because
"it's got too many starry bits"
LOL!!! when we got home and I popped the picture on my computer Mo jumped on my knee, hid his head and said....
"arggggghh, Mummy, theres an eye looking at us from the sand"
he he he he :) He was right to because a 2 shells with a poor starfish leg over them do look like an eye up there on the top right!!!

Well, its time for a cuppa and a play for us now as Sophia has just arrived so I will catch up with my bloggy dashboard later!!
Huge hugs and thank you's for popping in on little ole me :)
