Image- Zombie Boy from Krista Smith's saturated canary Digi's.
Morning Peeps!!
Today I am having a special treat as I am playing along with the DT over on the Diva's By Design challenge blog. Their challenge this week is being sponsored by the gorgeous Krista Smith and her awesome Saturated Canary digi's :)
This weeks challenge is called ... Charmed
so use charms on your projects!! easy peasy and who doesn't love a charm??!!!
I know I do!! there is just something about their little metal cuteness that I adore. My friend Clare has a craft shop and she has them in little bags on the top near the till and I just have to get 1 or 2 (...or more....:) ) bags whenever I pop in on her!! I just LOVE them!!
So my card for today has the awesome little zombie boy image on it!! this card is for my nephew, Jake. He is going to be 12 this year and he LOVES horror films, goofy ones, scary ones, you name it he loves it! he gets it from my big sister because she is exactly the same!! Last week when I had Jake and Boo for the school hols the children spent a long time drawing lots of different zombies in some excercise books I had bought for them so I am so excited about giving Jake this card! I might even have to give him it early :) !!!
I printed my zombie out and then nestied him all wonky with a deckled rectangle nestie. Once I had lovingly and carefully coloured him in.....I then screwed him up and stomped on him a bit to distress him (poor guy!!) then I rubbed some antique linen distress ink all over him and inked the edges in a darker brown ink eye. I added some glossy accents to his orange eye once I had finished squishing him!!! He also got some blender pen make your face all mottley' treatment! Here's a close up...
He,he,he!! Little Mo looked at him when I was done and said
" hey mumma, that zombie isn't a full zombie yet 'cos he has one normal blue eye, but he is going to be a full one soon because you can see he has THE ORANGE EYE"
now, that THE ORANGE EYE bit had to be capitals because that was the moment little Mo put his head to the side, stuck out his tongue and in his best zombie voice said "THE ORANGE EYE" it was soooo funny I nearly spat my juice out laughing!!!
I used Jen's sketch to make this card. If you haven't popped in on her blog, Deconstructing Jen, you really should!! I am always totally late using the sketches but I do love them so!!! I am so going to try and do the next one on time Jen :) xxxx
I attached my little skully charm using some cross stitch thread. I have a tonne of this thread that I love, I used to cross stitch all the time! but moved over into cardmaking and now the thread is my own little stash of twine!!! I also tied some teeny knots and added them to the little circles on the side of the image mats.
Here is my little pile of promarkers used.....
Please don't forget to pop in on the awesome Diva's by Design DT and see what they have been creating to inspire you all along your way!!
Thank you for popping in on me today
huge hugs Lou xxxx
This is fab sweetie! I love how you gave him such a distressed look! Lol at Mo and the ORANGE EYE! Yesterday Caleb was telling his nan all about our new puppy and said "she isn't a dog she is a Hiberian husky they are very intelligent you know" in his best 4 yr old voice lol! Hi Lou, finally making it over from the Divas to say how wonderful it was to have my little card up on the same page as your brilliant creation! Sorry I'm at the tail end of the week, but been busy with the school holiday (not much time to craft or surf with a very active nearly 5 yr old!).
ReplyDeleteYour card is just perfect - love the little charm and I couldn't have crunched an image coloured so brilliantly!!
Sarah
PS - love that you put the Promarkers you use up - great idea
