a bloggy question answered!!!

Hi everyone!

I got a little question through in my emails this morning about my blog layout so I thought I would answer it on here instead incase anyone else has ever wondered about it.

So, the question was...

"Lou, can you share with me how you get your pictures so big on your blog. mine are all squished into the middle section on mine and there is a lot of space down the sides but if I make my pictures bigger they go over the side bars which looks messy. What can i do to change that out?"

ok, so the answer really very much depends on your blog template. So, lets womble through this together peeps!

OK, go to your blog and select 'Design' on the top right hand side. Then look down the left hand side and choose the 'Template' choice ( it has a little paint roller next to it).

You will then see lots of different pictures of layouts for your blog. Mine is set on a 'Simple' layout, so we will go with that for these waffles!!

When you click on your selection you should then see a few options down the side where you can click on options to change the bits on your blog. This is what mine looks like when I go to those settings. ( I have chosen the 'adjust widths' setting for this piccy so you can see the widths that mine is set at....

and this is what it looks like on mine when I select the 'Layout' option...

So onto photographs!! I resize all my photographs of my cards in paintshop. I do them at 72 dpi with the longest side of my crop to be 600 pixels. That way I can upload them to my blog and then click on 'original size' which makes them pop up nice and bog for peeking at. Doing them this way means I can get a lovely big picture on my blog but still have the pages loading quickly as they are not chug chug chugging along trying to load a massive file.

Phew! wafflies over!! hope it helped someone!!

I just had to use the new Rock n Rolla digi from Tiddly Inks, at just $1 she is one you totally can't miss out on!! and she totally makes me think of my friend Amelia, who loves skating and has the coolest pink hair. She has been going through some horrid stuff with head pain and she inspires me totally. When my knee is sorted I am going to get my skates out of the shed!!!

So I printed her out, coloured her with my promarkers and then added some super fun papers.

Right, got to get myself moving! Mo slept in until 6am this morning so I am on a go slow!! lol!!

Papers- Crate Paper The Pier 6x6 pad.
Coloured with promarkers.
Hi everyone!!
I am a bit late posting today because we woke up to gorgeous sunshine and decided to make the most of it with Poppy and my friends dog, Tyson. My friend Vicky is in hospital at the moment (....squeeeee!! twins coming soon!! squeeeee!!!) so we decided Tyson might like some treat time with his budette furball princess!
We had a wonderful time, they played, rested, played some more and then finished off with a lovely clam lead walk back so they were ready for chilling when we got home! Here they are looking all cheesy wheezy together!!!
and off for a good sniff around...
Anyways!! onto Ellie!! isn't she just a super cutie?!! I loved making this card (...wait....yup...I do say that like all the time but I am super lucky and love making all my cards!!!!)
She is so wonderful to colour up and the papers are from one of my fav pads ever, very stroke only, use only if you really really have to, The Pier by Crate paper.

Right, off to veg on the settee with my guys now!! Poppy is fast asleep on her bed in the kitchen after her adventures!!!

'Popping' in with Wryn!!!

Image- Wryn Skater Girl from Tiddly Inks.
coloured with Promarkers.

Good morning peeps!!
How are you all this fine friday?!! I totally adore friday's because Scott is off on a friday and its even better today because its half term so we are all together. We are going to take a lovely walk with the dog before heading out for the day.

So how cute is Skater Girl Wryn?!! oh my gosh too cute right?!!!!!! I absolutely love her!! and I had to have another go at these awesome pop up box cards. They are just my cup of tea, layers and dimension always makes for a totally fun and cute card.

I popped the tutorial up there with the links but I fiddled with it a bit for this one because I wanted a square box, so this one the little layers are 3x3 with a finished size of 6x6. I have made 3 of these uber fab boxes now!!

I added some die cuts and little punched flowers and edge punched the edges of the box too.

Here's a little closer shot of her in her scene!! I am going to pop her over on the  Layers challenge on the Papertake weekly blog as this is such a fun way to add layers to your crafty makes!

Right, time for me to get a cuppa and have a little blogster womble!!

Image- Swimmer.
Papers- Crate Paper 'The Pier'.
Coloured with Promarkers.

Morning peeps of the world!!

So have you all woken up to a tremendous thursday?! I know we have!! we had oodles of mummy and Mo time yesterday which I just adore. I super love the school holidays for that and now Mo no longer worries about going back to school the holidays are just bliss. We enjoyed a wonderful walk in the sunshine with Poppy and Mo even took some time to sit and finish all his homework while I sat by him drinking tea and having a good old colour.

My card reflects my mood from super happy times. I am so lucky to have a tonne of sunshine in my life! Seriously, Swimmer is just to uber cute!!!!

Here is the 'bit flashed out but hey the bling on the sunglasses shows' shot!!! romfl!!! they were just too cute not to get a closer peek on!! he he he he!!
I am popping her over in the Lovely Layers challenge over on the Papertake Weekly blog. ya'll know I love my layers!!!
and I can't resist a little piccy of my little guy and the Furball Princess for you all...
He always puts her lead around him like a belt (we have a double ended lead that attaches in 2 places on her harness) so that he knows she is safe and can't pull the lead out of his hand with any sudden movements. I LOVE how sensible he is like that. He has a seriously major bond with her, he doesn't really do people but the dog, oh my, he would do anything for her!! and I totally love how loose her lead always is when she is walking, see that lovely hanging bit with the bend in? she is just such a gentle girl. I love that she kept looking up to him and he kept smiling at her but could I get a good picture of that??!!!....errrr...Nope!! Anywhoo, I loved this piccy so had to share it!!

Right, got to go! cuppa's to be made and snuggling to be done!!
Huge hugs for you all, thank you for popping in on me

Birthday Balloons......

Image- Birthday Balloons from Saturated Canary.
Papers- Crate paper The Pier paper pad.
Coloured with promarkers.

Morning peeps!
I hope you are all feeling loved this morning. I am, I got a rolo from Mo and Scott made me a beautiful card ( he has hallmark studio!!) and we have a day of family snuggles planned. We don't do gifts for valentines day as our little bubble of family life is love enough. People have been horrified in the past when I told them Scott and I don't do the whole gift thing! but we just don't need that kind of stuff and we love each other every single day so cards full of loving words are all we do!!

So onto my make for today!! I used the gorgeous new 'Birthday Balloons' from Saturated Canary. She is just so sweet. She has some sparkle around her but as usual dopey Lou struggled to get a picture of that!

I stitched around all the holes in my nestie and then tied a lil bow in the top where the 2 ends of my thread met each other!! the floaty ends of the coton are stuck down with some glue.

Right, I had better get my self into gear really! a day of snuggleage needs preparation in the way of walking the furball princess and hoovering!! he he he he!!

Huge squishy hugs for you all, thank you for popping in,
huge hugs Lou xxx

With all my heart.....

Stamps- With all my heart from Tiddly Inks.
Welcome to a lovely house Magnolia stamp.
Dies-Magnolia Doohickey die Lovely Fence.
Scalloped circle nestie
Circle nestie.
Hiyah peeps!!
I am flying in kinda late tonight with a tiddly make!!

I had so much fun making this special card! its so funny because this was was a made for someone card and the lady I made it for was worried she was being a pain with all the bits she wanted me to include.
The special lady it is for is an accountant...so I used my numbers sheet of paper from the Simple stories Smarty pants 6x6 pad.
She loves cottages...a la magnolia cottage!! and please could I pop text behind the cottage ( she had seen my other cottage card stamped on a book page) She is a very special mum...find a gorgeous poem on internet at verses4cards, print and stamp cottage over top, colour up with my promarkers.... et voila!!
The daughter and her mum used to visit Tiggywinkles ( a hedgie rescue home) and she liked the fence I used on my magnolia card last week! I added a few punched flowers onto the fence and popped it out, then I cut out my hedgies from tiddly inks being sooo careful that I didn't snip too much off because I knew I wanted one behind the fence and one in front of the fence.

Go me! it turned out so cute I almost kept it hidden but Norris would of set Mooch on a mission to lick me to death so i thought I best send it!!! but I really do so love this card a zillion! there's a really lovely feeling that comes with getting everything someone needs into one little 5x5 card that makes me feel like a bit of a card hero!! :)

And before I go I must just share my little guys tiddly make for this week. He used his My Boys clear stamp set. I am soooo proud of him because he is really getting into the 2 shades for shadows and trying to get strands of hair in the hair, its so lovely and special to craft with him because he always knows what he wants to do! I think he can use my dies/ paper cutter as well as I can!!

(yeah...that's pen on his nose....!!)
and here's a few of him making it.....
( because his mamma is a photo clicking so proud of him kinda mamma!!)

awwwwww!!
and if I can squeeeeeeeeeeeze just a teensy bit more proud mamma in, this is what my little guy came home with today....
it has pride of place on our fridge!

Right, that's a whole tonne of Lou waffle for you tonight!! I am off for a quick cuppa before i head to bed and wohoooooooo! its half term so we can just veg out tomorrow!!
Thank you for popping on me!
