Polkadoodle challenge 2 and Loving my holiday!!!

hellllo from my caravan!!!!!!!
scott and mo are having a holiday snoozle so i have got my polkadoodle challenge card done!!!! the weather is gorgeous again, mo and i were on the beach at 6:45am!!!!! and we have been to norfolk lavendar for a cream tea, going back for dinner when the boys wake up!!!!! so heres my polkadoodle card, the picture isn't great as its too bright if i take it outside and not quite bright enough if i take it inside!!!!

I am a little bit sad as in my rush to pack i left the gorgeous polkadoodle butterflies i had printed out to go with it in the printer!!! so i had to go for a pearlescent happy birthday instead!!! the stamps are some papermania ones i got free on my do-crafts mag. The ribbon was going to match the butterflies to a tee but hey ho!!! it still looks cute!!!! I am currently sat on the decking outside the caravan under a curtain so i can see my laptop as the reception is a little dodgy and worse inside!!!
Don't forget to click on my polkadoodle blinkie to take you to the site to check out this weeks sketch!!!!

wedding tag card!!

Hellllooooo!!!!!!!
yey!!! I have finished the last card that was in abit of a line and I will be able to have some playtime for me!!!!
This wedding card is for a lady who used to work with me who is getting married abroad, as always there are lots of us to sign it so this card has 10 tags in all. It isn't very big as I didnt know if they would be taking it with them and didn't want it to take up lots of room!!!!! I wanted to achieve classy, uncluttered blingyness for this card as Jodie, who is the one getting married, loves bling!!!! and is quite young too so I didn't fancy anything too fussy.
The glittery bit on the front is embossed with the heart blocks cuttlebug folder but it is so hard to see due to all the bloing. I cut the little vellum pockets at 4" from my tbbm cart and the tags at 2.25". The cardbase is one that I have saved in my CDS and I use it a lot.
The 'love doves' (!!!!) are from the wedding solutions cart and I popped a blingy heart on the shadow too, Jodie loves a bit of bling!!!!!!
The sentiment I did on my computer and the little heart brads are from my stash of embellies!!!!!!
As always, I had to ink the edges of everything....!!!!!!!
Thankyou for peeking!!!!
hugs,
Lou xxxxx

Yey!!!! finished my book and I love it!!!!

I have been busy today!!!
Firstly I went for a bike ride to check out biking to work on thursday as scott is going to the golf open and will need the car, I only work 10 mins car drive away but have to take little mo on the bike with me so thought I would try and find a quieter route than the normal busy one, I wombled down some farm tracks to get there, they were quite hilly, a lovely bike ride but not all that suitable for mo on his little bike seat in front o me so we will be oging the normal way!!! lol!!! as for mo, he has the tummy lergy everyone seems to be getting at the moment and has had a pretty ykky afternoon, bless him.
So I got on with the book I needed to make for sam to give her friend for her birthday. I decided I wanted it to kind of match the card I made for her so got my storybook cart back out and cut the robin in the tree out on my B&Q special wallpaper ( chose the browny leather effect one to match the parcel paper!!) and used my birds and swirls folder again.
Then I cut two covers from a cereal box (...good ole kelloggs!!!) and covered them with parcel paper, I inked the edges :) I made a couple of triangular pockets to stick on the inside of the covers and then popped them in my BIA on the 'cover' setting for punching. I got out some white paper I have had for ages ( it is 6.25" x 8.75") and rounded 2 of the edges and popped that in the BIA on the 'inner pages' setting. For every 10 pages of white I made a parcel paper pocket page ( there are 2 of those pages which make 2 pockets each, you can never have too many pockets!!!!!!) and binded it all together with a 3/4" o wire.
I wrapped a bit of terracotta organza around the middle so it went over the paper but under the tree (....my attempt to be design-ery!!!!!) and used 6 of my very lovely new card candy, these ones were out of the 'choclate drops' packet and are a metallicy kind of chocolatey colour, mmmm they are so sweet, love them.
Then I cut a bit of brown, thin leathery lace stuff to tie the book together, I left it long as it is a book for sketches and it may get full so I wanted the lace to be long enough to tie it when it has been used a bit!!!
So I am very pleased with myself for this one as I was a little worried I wouldn't be able to get it done nicely enough. If I get time I want to tryand make a matching pen witha bit of the patterned paper I have left.
I am quite chuffed as my layout used 1 full piece of the same paper and then some little cuts on another piece of the same paper and I have got the birthday card and this book done using the bits lft from my layout ( Lou is pleased with self for being thrifty!!!!! lol !!!!!)
Thankyou for popping in, I am off to bed now to catch some zzzzzz's!!!! xxxxx

My card for the new blog Polkadoodles challenge!!

There is a great new blog called Polkadoodles and they are having their first challenge, it looked so nice I thought I would have a go at it. The design teams cards are so pretty, go and check it out and see the card sketch, heres a link http://polkadoodle.blogspot.com/
I had a birthday card to make so I decided to have a bash at the challenge at the same time!!

For mine I got out my storybook cart, there is just so much on this one cart I love it!! I cut out the scalloped circle in 2 sizes to get the shadow, ran the smaller of the 2 through my cuttlebug with my new birds and swirls folder my big sis got me and inked it brown, then i inked the bigger scallop and popped some brown dots around the edge. I foam squared them together and opped them on my base ( also inked...you know how i love to ink!!!!)
Then I cut the bird on the branch and cut the robin to go on top ( that took a bit of playing around to cut one a size that would go nicely but I found it !!!) I inked all the edges brown and inked the leaves green.I went over the wing and eye with a brown whisper pen and then glazed the little robin to make him pop up a little, he is such a cutie.
I popped a bit of ribbon across and made my sentiment in word ( inside just says '....its your birthday') and inked th edges of that too (.....Lou wonders if she needs to join inkers anonymous?!!lol!!)
The little bird in the circle is just a punched circle I popped through my cuttlebug with the birds and swirls folder again, strategically placing it to get the little bird in the middle!!!!!!!....errrr...inked again!!!
As for the corner, I actually cheated a little bit . I wanted to use all my scraps left from my layout as the thin cardstock I used was just so pretty and I just had enough left to do the card so I cut 2 sqaures, (one patterned and one plain) cut them in half diagonally and stuck them on, I popped a basic grey brad through the plain piece that tied in the colours.
I think it turned out cute, I just have a sketch book left to make to finish off the birthday order from big sis for the person she asked for the card tonight and the present will be done.
Thankyou for popping by, hope you are all enjoying the weekend xxxx http://polkadoodle.blogspot.com/

My first scrapbook page!!!

Hello!!!!!
I have finally got my challenge layout done for the may best of the mb challenge!!!!! Please bear in mind his is my first real layout so it is is probably not as fancy as some you might of seen but I am very proud of it as it is my first!!!!
The challenge was to use any flowers from any cart so I got out my storybook cart and cut the hibiscus for the corners, with a few holey squirls to pop bling on!!
I inked the edges of my flowers and popped some shimmery chalk on them and then some light pink bling on the little droppy bits.
For the squirls I inked them with a greeny colour and then popped some yellow bling in the holes!!!
The sentiment took me a while to think of, I wanted something specialto go with my special little men, then I came up with this and printed it out on some creamy coloured embossed paper.I inked the edges of the sentiment pieces and the edges of the 12x12paper with a terracotta coloured ink and then popped my cute little guys on.
I inked their pictures with a pinky colour to match the hibiscus and popped a few dots on using my brown sharpie pen. Both the boys and the flowers are on foam thin foam pads to pop them out a little. It looks much nicer in 'real life' than the picture!!!!
So I have got another thing marked off my list of things to do!! I have just got a book and a squillion cards left to make now!!!!
See you soon, thankyou for popping in!!!!
((((hugs))))

urgh, what a day!!!!

Urgh!!! I have been on a child protection course all day today and it was hard, I don't like to dwell on people who hurt children but as part of my job it is an essential course, I am pleased it is over though!!! Scott took me for a quick visit to alicraft to cheer me up though so I got some pinflair silicone and a syringe and little mo chose me a new tilda!!! bless him!!!
So, I made some gorgeous little books on thursday morning with little mo. His was blue and is now very written in as he spent the whole day at nursery writing in it so I don't have a picture of that one but here is my niece Lily's ( she is a bit cross with me at the moment as her mummy-my big sis- keeps coming to play at my hoise on a wednesday night and Lily can't come as it is past bedtime so she is grumpy with me!!!! this is an aunty Lou peace offering!!! lol!!!)
I didn'r have any acetate covers so i popped some patterned paper through my laminator in a laminating pocket!! genius!!! it looks so cute and i get to decide what paper to choose
******WARNING PEEPS, THIS IS VERY ADDICTIVE!!!LOL!!!*****
I cut come plain paper and lined paper and put them in alternate order ( anyone one with little people will know they love writing and drawing in books!!!) and popped them all in my BIA and punched and binded them, awwwwww so cute!! then I decided I needed to put me a little pen in there ( a little 3 year old lady needs to accesorise you know) so I use da bit of ther patterned paperto match and made a pen holder out of it to keep the pen in the book, I popped a little ribbon and bow on the front and hey prestaroonie it was done!!!! cute !! The card is my nephews birthday card! do you ever regret ringing to see what card your nephew wants?......I did when my brother said 'oh he would love a primeval one' argggghhhhhh!!! panic sets in for 24 hours and then I came up with this!! the evil dinosaurs pop out from the base on foam squares and are covered with 3d glaze, the characters and the words primeval are just layered up and glazed, I quite like it and boys cards are tough so this one will pass for me!!!!!
right its bedtime just about for me so thankyou for noseying in!!!!!

My try for the funkyhand design team!!!

I know, I know...I am late with thinking about doing this but I have wondered about it all week and have just decided that even if I don't get to be on the design team I would always wonder about it if I didn't at least try!!!! So Anice this post is for you hunny!!!!
I have sooo many favourite cards but these ones are my most recent favourites ( lou feels a bit daft as she realises that 2 of them are using funkyhand papers but I just love them!!!!!)
So please cross your fingers for me everyone and I will be crossing one hand for me and one hand for everyone else who has entered.
heres the link if anyone wants to pop a go in before tomorrow morning.
Thankyou for looking xxxxxx

Woo-hoo!!! finished my word book!!!

Helllloooo!!!!!
Well, I have spent most of the day in my new crafty space built for me by my amazing husband. I am now the proud owner of one amazing crafty worktop, shelves , drawers and ribbon holder!!! I will post some piccies soon but I have been working hard in here all day and it looks like a whrilwind went through it at the moment!!!!
So I used my amazing huge funky love cd from www.funkyhand.com for my 'beth' book to print the gorgeous papers on the pages that I made with my cds. ( I used storybook for the birthday girl 1st pagey bit and pooh font for the letters, all welded to stretched squares from my george cart!!)
This is the first proper wordbook I have made on my cds and I have to say I think it is really cute. The papers from funkyhand just bring it to life.
I used some glittery effect adhesive paper for the top layer of 'beth' and 'birthday girl' ( ooooh, that birthday girl bit was really fiddly!!!!!!) and sat a little summery tilda on a ribbon. I foam dotted most of her out but I stuck her hands to the ribbon, I think she looks more real like that!!!
I also cuttlebug embossed some buttons onto the first pagey bit and inked them too, then I popped a bit of anita's 3d gloss on them to help them stand up. At the moment the rest of the pages have no embellies yet as I am waiting for my bestfriend Leah ( who I have made the book for for a card for one of her little people she looks after) to tell me what she needs inside. She is going to put some photographs of beth inside so maybe she will want some journalling tickets?!! I don't know yet!! I will post piccies of the inside should I change them!!!! Beth's fav colour is green so I think I used enough here!!!! That is what I love about huge funky love, it is all co-ordinated.
The cute little bear card is one I made with one of my big sis's images, I love the little family of bears, You could have so many sentiments to go with this one but I liked 'Have a 'beary' happy birthday!!'.
I printed it, coloured it, rounded the corners, inked them, popped it on foam dots and then onto a butterfly base card, popped a bit of ribbon down the side with 2 'cheats' bows and voila!!! quick but very cute card!!!
So now I only have a challange card and a challenge layout to do!!!!
Thankyou for popping by!! I am going to give my lovely husband some snuggles now.

Black & White challenge card!!

Well, what a busy few days I have had!!!! I have finally got my challenge card done for the uk crafters thread on the cricut mb!!! I used my happy bithday cuttlebug folder and then popped some white card strips with black adhesive lace on and doodled some fake stitches on them. I cut out one of my sisters gorgeous circles and put some white glitter glue on for the frosting. I coloured the dots on the ribbon on the cupcake in black and put little blobs of glaze on them to make them pop out!! I put some little white gel pen dots around the edge of the circle and inked the edges white,I added 3 little black adhesive gems and then stamped and heat embossed 'celebrate' in white.
For the inside I just cut a sqaure piece of cardstock, rounded the corners and inked around the edges with black. I stamped happy birthday on a leftover white piece of card, then onto black and doodled a bit more!!! lol!!!!
Right, I have to get on with a wordbook and a challenge layout now, oh and sleep!!!!
Thankyou for dropping by!!!

Lily-boo's boutique card!!!!

Hello!!!!
I am so excited today!!!! I have been playing with my big sisters images and my dad has been in touch to let us know the dates for when he is coming home to the UK for a holiday. In my excitement all the challenges and things I am doing got popped on the back burner and I have made my dads fathers day card ready for when he comes home from the seychelles!!! He couldn't come home last year so I can't wait for him to come home!!!!
I used one of the teddy images from my sisters collections to make this one and a new way of making a card that my lovely friend Fiona showed me last thursday. I have never made one before but it looked such a great card I had to try one.
I coloured my teddy with my whispers pens and popped some glittery bling on the bubbles in the bath and the bubbles floating around.
I popped some white card through my cuttlebug with the tiny bubbles folder and then inked it in green to tie it into the green card I used for the zigzag base. Then I printed the sentiments out in green on my computer, I inked the edges and stuck them on to my card. I cut out the teddy and some of the bubbles, I stuck some of the bubbles straight onto the card base and then mounted my teddy on some foam dots to pop him out.
I can't believe how cute he looks sat in the bath!!!!!
Heres the link if you want to check out Lily-boo's boutique!!
I have some challenge bits and bobs to do now so I must dash!!!
Thankyou for popping in!!!

60th birthday tag accordian card!

Helloooooo!!! I hope everyone is having a great bank holiday, I am haing a busy one!!!! I have just finished off this 60th birthday card for my mum in law to give to her friend. There are 8 of them to sign it so I headed straight for my CDS and made a card similar to my 'leaving to have a bay' card I made a while back.
For this one I welded 3 tags from my george cart (in shadow function) together and cut it out (this one was done at 5.5" so I can fit it in a normal sized envelope!).
Then I stamped some flowers all over it with my watermark stamp pad and chalked over them with some creamy coloured shimmer glitter to dress it up a bit!!
I popped a bit of spotty brown ribbon on ( i love pink and brown together) and colored my tilda a pinky colour, I cut 2 more cakes out to get some layers on the cake, coloured them and gave them some stickles sparkle!!! Tilda's dress had some creamy shimmer chalk on it too but its hard to see in the picture!! I popped her on some foam dots and attached her to the card over the ribbon.
I cut the '60' twice in shadow function and once in normal to get that to stand up from the card a bit too, I stickled the normal '60'. They were cut from my teardrop cart.
For the tag pockets I used fabulous finds and cut 8 ticket pockets on the jagged setting at 2", I inked the edges and did a few doodle dots, stuck 2 together and then popped them through my cuttlebug with the divine swirls embossing folder. I stuck some anita's gems on the ends of the swirls. I think they look so pretty.
The tags are cut from my george cart again at 2" ( I think, didn't write that bit down....derrrr!!!) in both shadow function and normal. I inked the edges, stuck them together and then I popped some cream organza ribbon through the holes and popped a pink eyelet in.Then I stuck a set of 2 to 4 of the pages.
The sentiment I got from my hallmark cards studio and I used my word programme to get it onto the matching tag which I cut again from george at 4.25"
so I could get the shadowy effect from the base card. I stamped and powder embosed with my heat gun to get the little matching flower at the top of the sentiment and was done!!!!!
Now I have got a few cards to make for my big sis and some school transistion books to make and I will be done!!
Oh and I forgot I have a mount olympus of ironing to chug through later!!!!
Thankyou for popping by, I am off to ake some egg and cress sandwiches with the cress Mo has been growing on my kitchen windowsill!!!xxxxx

Party Edwin!!!

Hello peeps!!!!!
just a quicky for tonight as I am pooped out after a lovely day with 2 of my favourite men!!! ( nope not ty from xtreme makeover and simon baker.....dh and ds!!!)
This is my card for the male card challenge over on the cricut mb uk crafters thread. The challenge was a male card with a button on!!! (to get to this card I had 3 other attempts that lined my bin beautifully!!!!)
I finally decided to give myself a days break from it and went to play at my very lovely new friend fiona's house on thursday night and she let me stamp some of her magnolia stamps, i took a shine to this party edwin one nd stamped myself a couple in between snuggling fiona's new puppy spencer!!!
I took them home and placed them on my table but it was too late for me to play with him when i got home from fiona's and the rest of my week has been so busy!!
Finally last night I had a good chance to play and painted him up a bit. I popped some stickles on the tiny stars and inked the edges up. I used a bit of my big one stack to pop on the card base it says happy birthday and best wishes all over it. I stuck that down to my scalloped card base and inked the edges of that too.
Then i popped my ribbon on and threaded some through the holes in my little blue button ( lol!!! that was tricky!!!!!) and woo-hoo my card was done!!!!
I am loving my stamping attempts at the moment! I keep practising my colouring and I am really gettng into the swing of it!!
Don't forget to sneak a peek at my sisters blog, she has more image download on there now and more to come over the bank holiday!!!
Heres the link: http://www.lily-boosboutique.blogspot.com/
