Afternoon Peeps!
I'm back with my second post of the day because its time for a new challenge over on the Saturated Canary challenge blog!! and this week the challenge set by our gorgeous Bev is....
Pastel Colours.
Now this is just such a lovely colour challenge,I love pastel shades when I am colouring.
I decided on a SMASH page for my project. Easter is a super special time in our house and Mo has been reading the same story in his chldren's bible all week at bedtime, which I love because I never have to ask him to read that, he loves it and on sunday morning we will have an easter egg hunt. Mo loves that easter eggs are based on the shape of the stone from Jesus's tomb.
Onto my smash!!! I chose Set Free and a whole easter/faith theme. I find these the easiest of my smash pages to do because they come from my heart, they seem to just flow so easily when they come from there.
The bible page is my actual bible plonked on the photocopier and copied at 50%, those yellow tabs on it are my salvation!!! when I did my alpha course it was a tip given to us by one of the teachers and it has been awesome for me. Each book in there is tabbed up and labelled with a post it mini....(now I must admit I need something a little stronger to tab them with because I have had to replace several from getting worn out, especially my Luke, Matthew,Psalms and proverbs tabs!!!) it shows the part I have been reading this week too.
I coloured up my Set Free image with my promarkers...
skin- blush,sunkissed pink, coral
Dress- pastel green,tea green,soft green,blush,coral
boots and hair- sandstone,cocoa,burnt sienna
grass- pear green and olive green with some blender pen texture using an old pair of jeans!
pastel yellow for the shine around her.
Here's a close up of my sentiment and embellies!! I love this sentiment. For lent I chose to give up negativity again, its a really had one to do and there have been moments where I have struggled greatly with it but I am pleased at how I rolled along mostly, I am going to carry on with it though. You can't see my bottletop on the piccy below but I LOVE them, I glossy accented a little heart onto it.
I used my grapevine wreath die to wrap around my sentiment and a couple of hearts along with a palm cross I made myself out of raffia.
So that's me for the challenge!!! Don't forget to pop in on my teamies because they totally rocked pastel colours with the most beautiful cards.
And the challenge rules are super easy too so please remember to follow them...
