My earliest childhood memory....

Morning peeps!!
How is everyone this cold, grey and wet morning?!!! great I hope!!! I am frozen!! I am sat in my jeans, top and fleecey jumper with the heating on and my wheaty bag which either means its freezing cold or I am getting a cold, I am hopeful of it being the weather as i just don't fancy a cold this week!!! :)

Anywhoo!! onto my little creation for today!! (....grrrr which I started last night but the base coat of paint on the journal page refused to dry.....cue lou and her heat gun this morning....8 mins of drying whilst singing along to Sheryl Crow........sorted!!! lol!!)
My poor little art journal has been shouting me from under the pile of papers and mess on my craft desk for a couple of weeks now and I just has to pull it out and get busy last night.

My earliest childhood memory is that of a huge need to want to hold a small, wild bird! I was so obsessed with them because my grandad had nursed a robin back to health from a broken leg and it regularly came back to be fed. When Christy, from Tiddly Inks, released Wryn and Wren I couldn't believe it and I was pulled to her straight away. I wanted a bright and cheery page so coloured her in to match my papers. The tree is a little extra pressie that Tracy from Dies to Die for had tucked in my envelope when she posted my order before christmas. I  love it and have been holding onto it for a special something and this page was it!!!

I added a couple of hearts and I wanted to stamp the word 'memories ' on it so I could journal underneath. Now I wanted a shadow underneath and had to think about how to do it for a few mins! 3 mins and a scratched head later and I had got it! my stamp is a clear one so I inked it up with brown ink and gave it a good squish down onto the hearts which squooshed it out. Then I stamped gently over the top with some black ink on the stamp! yey!!
I typed out my journalling (..man my handwriting is so icky, you don't all need to be tortured by that!!)in word and then distressed it a bit with some tea dye before roughing up the edges and doing it again!!
The journalling bit incase ya'll want to read it!!

I have to say I love this page!!  I am popping it in over on the CES challenge blogs Anything but a card challenge.
now onto my Sheryl Crow song. This is one of my favourite songs by Sheryl. I know everyone has different thoughts on a songs meaning but this song for me reminds me of  how I can sometimes get with my prayers. I feel that sometimes I forget about the big picture and only turn to God for a chat when I am struggling, I am going to sort that out this year! I start my Alpha course next Tuesday night. Mo on the other hand is more switched on than his mum, he says "goodnight and thank you for a lovely day" to God every night and I never have to remind him or tell him what to say, he puts me to shame! last night he asked God to keep the dog we are hoping to bring home from the rescue kennels on Saturday lovely and warm because it was a cold night, awwww!! she is a yellow lab and adorable so keep your fingers crossed for us!!
Here's the song by Sheryl Crow if you want to listen, we don't need to get the same message from it but it is a beautiful song all the same....

Thankyou for popping in on me, huge hugs Lou xxxxxxx

  1. Lou, I love to come to your blog when I'm feeling like I need a big boost of happiness and smiles. As usual, you delivered. :) I have been neglecting my poor art journal, too, so I think I'll have to drag that out this weekend. As a matter of fact, I only have about 6 or 8 pages left before it's full. My very first completed art journal! :) Have a fabulous day, my friend. xoxo
