an awesome day...

Hello Peeps!!
I am kinda late popping in today but it has just been such a fabulous day I haven't had chance to sit down and type until now!!
Regular visiting peeps to my blog will know that I love the weekend and the reason I love the weekend is because I am at home with Scott and Mo. Of all the things I hold dear they are the best and I love, love, love family days.
Today started off with Mo creating his potato for his school fair Mr.Potato Head competition. I was soooo desperate to get my own potato out of the cupboard and play along because watching him make this 'Gruffato' was just awesome, tongue hanging out of the side of his mouth in concentration and thinking real hard on each part he did, it was lovely. The only bit he needed help on was getting the 'Gruffato' to stand so he could do the purple prickles down his back...which I forgot to take a piccy of...derrr Lou!! so McDonalds coffee stirrers and mummy to the rescue and he was standing!!
The most part of it he made with his magic maze!! its such fantastic stuff and all the colours were just right!! I especially love his nose!!

Whilst Mo was busy doing the 'gruffato' I was busy making a bookmark for my gorgeous little niece, LilyBoo.
She is 7 today and I so wanted to make her something just for her and a bit special so I used my yummy Die-namics dies .. fish tail flags stax die-namics. The roses are made with my Die-namics Mini Royal Rose!! and one of the flowers on my Tim Holtz tattered florals for the leaves. I sat and hand stitched the pink and green felt together, I love stitching, its so relaxing and then I hot glued my roses together and added a little gem to the centre of each one.

I cut 'LILY' out with my Tim Holtz chip block die and attached that with hot glue too. I positioned the roses up at the top so that when Boo has it in a book it won't slip down and loose her page if it falls out.
It had to be pink because the Boo loves pink!! I am entering this bookmark over on the challenge on the Allsorts challenge blog's any die will do.

We plodded off to the school fair and had an awesome time, it was fabulous. We met scott's mum and dad there, had a BBQ lunch and yummy cupcake for pudding and had so much fun wombling around and watching Mo play. He even got locked up in the cell in the police van with nannie!!
Then once we had gotten home we had our first visit from Riley...

awwwww he's soooo cute. I had a deliciously long snuggley with him before he had his bottle and Mo got a snuggle in too!!....of course!!!

Please excuse my scraggy 'been out in the wind for 2.5 hrs and probably shoulda brushed it before Leah arrived' hair!!! Riley is the baby of one of my oldest and dearest friends and I feel so blessed to see her and her partner Roger so happy. Mo has renamed Riley 'Little Rodger'!!

But the best part of my day just has to be this picture below. When we got home from the school fair Mo ran upstairs with some paper and told us we were not allowed to go up until he called us...a few minutes later he called us up to saying " there's a surprise in your bedroom mummy" and this is what greeted us on our bedroom door...

I love this!! complete with twinkling battery lights!! I absolutely adore how this little boy of mine thinks. Its such a simple thing to let someone know you love them yet we so often forget to do it so I am blessed to have a little guy who lets us know in the best ways. I think my bedroom door will remain like this for a very long time...though I just know he will steal the lights back!!!

So that's me for today! thank you so much for popping in and making it to the end of my happy saturday post!!
huge hugs Lou xxxx
