FAS challenge 29.

papers from Craft the Year Away

Helllooooo!! I'm back again!!!

so its time for a new challenge over on the Fetch a Sketch challenge blog, but before I go any further I just want to thank you all for your lovely comments and entries on my first  sketch. I was so nervous and you all made my day with your kind words and stunning creations ,mwah, mwah xxxxx

So, this time our gorgeously gorgeous Jenny has designed the sketch for us and here it is...

Remember that you can flip the sketch, rotate the sketch, resize it and make any type of project you like with it - as long as we can see the original sketch in your creation we'll be happy!
We have two sponsors for this challenge - A Day For Daisies is offering a $12 gift certificate to one lucky winner to spend in the store!
And Funky Hand is offering a download of the winners choice from the store!

I used the little winter fairy for my card. I distressed up my card base a lot...it was white and far too perfick so I distressed it with some tattered rose and tea dye distress inks and  also gave it a good old rub with my fine ball embosser, a bit of squigglying and squishing into my foam mat and it was much better!!! then when I cut my little butterfly memory box border die I inked around them too. I added some of the yummy Funky Hand paper to the inside too so that it shows through the butterflies when the card is shut but  it was tricky to get a piccy of it doing that so I hope you can see through the butterflies ok!!!

Right, back to making potions for little soldiers in the paddling pool now.....:)

Number Pig :)

Morning Peeps!!
I hope you all had a fantastic weekend because its been gorgeous weather here and I have had such a lovely weekend. Its school hols now so no school run! wohooooooo!! Mo and I have just walked sophia to nursery with the dog so we are going to spend the rest of the day playing. Mo has lots of little soldiers lined up ready to go in the paddling pool and I am going to sit on the decking and watch him play. I treasure this little guy sooo much so today I am soaking up the mo time!!

Its also my turn to poston the Get Funky challenge blog with my make for our Jackie's 'Just A Number' challenge for this month. Now this challenge was super fun and I decided I felt the need for something a little different!!! he he he!! Paper isn't just for cards and scrap booking you know :) ......so meet Number Pig!!

I printed out this months awesome freebie....

Free craft backing papers to download for card making and scrapbooking

onto some thin paper and then ripped it all up into little pieces. Then out came my little paper mache piggy and the decopatch glue and lots of sticky gluey fun later number pig was finished! I added a little bit of green polka dot ribbon to his neck too! I LOVE him...however someone small loved it more and he was quickly stolen by a cheeky little Mo!!

So please pop in on us and join in the fun! The only rule we have is that you use at least one Funky Hand product on your creations so if you don't have anything funky yet click on the freebie picture above and get yourself the freebie to play along with us!!!

I got you something....

Afternoon Peeps!!
Its been a really beautiful day here today, sunshiney and warm, so we have made the most of it and had a big play outside (..mo is still out there with his little buddies in the paddling pool!!) and had a yummy mini BBQ (....poundshop disposable BBQ's rock!!!). There's nothing quite like sitting outside with your family in the sun and having fun (...and the hum in the air of everybody mowing their lawn before it rains again!!!!) and I have even had time to get a bit of a make in!!!

I thought I would share my cuddly buddly DT make for the week today!! I used the little 'I got something for you' elfy guy for the first make and I had a play with the little Dancing Fairy and Full Moon background earlier in the week too!! here she is....
The papers on this one are from Hearts and Flowers download from Funky Hand.

And I couldn't end my bloggy post without sharing this beautiful picture that Mo brought home with him in his 'bundle a la end of term' . I know I am a daft mummy but this is just so cute!! Mo informs us " I did this a long long time ago in May"....well time just does go so fast!!! he he he he!!! it is, in Mo's words..." a truly awesome magical fish surrounded by magical weeds and he has airbubbles too" (....also whilst reading the description please picture a little mo swiping his hand in the air in a rainbow motion whilst saying 'truly awesome' a bit slower than the rest of the sentence!!!!!)
so here it is.....
cuuuuute!!!
it even comes complete with selotape on the middle of it where I was told...
"mmmm... I didn't quite concentrate on that bit mummy and when I looked down he was in half but Mrs. Neal used her powers to put him back together"
ahhhh, fabby TA!!! Mo will miss both his teacher and his TA greatly next year, he has loved them to bits this year.

Right I am off out to stalk the icecream man now, recently due to all the poopey rain, I think he has given up the idea of selling them as he hasn't been for weeks!!!!

thank you so much for popping in on me today!! I hope you have all had awesome saturday's too.

Isabella...another Saturated Canary sneak peek!!!

Stamp- Isabella from Saturated Canary.
Morning Peeps!
wohhoooooooo! its friday!!!! and I have another little sneak peek of Saturated Canary in rubber!!!
This is Isabella and isn't she just awesome? I LOVE her.
My friend Kat sent me an amazing Hero Arts background stamp for my birthday and it was totally perfect for Isabella.
I masked up Isabella and stamped over her with the Hero Arts stamp then got nice and messy with my spiced marmalade and fired brick distress inks.
I coloured her dress up with my cool grey promarkers 1-5 !! and then her skin is blush, sunkissed pink and coral. Her hair is cinammon, cocoa and burnt sienna.

I gave her some little flowers and swooshes to nestle into and a really dark shadow around her with some added sparkle too, I decided she was dancing in her window waiting for Antonio Banderas to come rescue her!! swoooon!!! :)

I am playing along in a few challenges with this little beauty...

Well, I had better get myself moving! its the first day of the summer holidays for Mo but I still have work to get to! Mo will be having a fabulous Daddy day ( I am so jealous! I would so rather be at home with my boys!!!)

Thank you so much for popping in on me this morning and for all your lovely comments this week, you are all just so awesome

Saturated Canary Challenge 22- Black, white and one other..

Image- Chasing Butterflies from Saturated Canary...soon:)
Afternoon Peeps!!!
Its time for a new challenge over on the Saturated Canary Challenge blog and this week its a super fun one its .......
Black, white and one other

I just had to SMASH and I felt the need for a squidge of pink too!!!! :) I found a yummy pink page in my equally yummy pink SMASH!!! and then I got to playing with the image that will be released real soon :) 'Chasing Butterflies'.
She's just beautiful isn't she and she was just perfect for some of the thoughts that I had written in my prayer journal a couple of weeks ago.
My friend Kerry bought me a little journal for writing my prayers in whilst I was doing my ALPHA course so I can look back on them from time to time. I love it and it helps me to focus when I am struggling with prayer too (...I am hoping that I am not the only person who worries that their prayers seem to womble to the wrong track of thoughts sometimes...) I actually knew this image was totally perfect for these words and my thoughts.

Here's a bit of a closer piccy of the floaty butterflies...floaty like my thoughts :)

and here's a little bit closer in on the super cute chick!!! she has a gentle bit of bling in her funky hair and on her skirt!!
The ribbon I used on this page is the ribbon that my gorgeous pink smash came tied up with when it arrived as a beautiful surprise from my beautiful friend :)

I must say sorry though for my photographs of this page, I suck at taking photo's of my smash pages!!

Right I am at work right now...LOVE scheduled posting :) so while I am at work please go drool over my awesome canary teamies creations over on the challenge blog...they put me to shame every challenge!!! they are just awesome!!

Thank you for popping in on me!  see you all when I get home :)
Huge hugglies Lou xxxx

Sneak peeks day 3...and a gorgeous Mo make too :)

Stamp- Free Hugs from Saturated Canary.
Morning Peeps!!
as you know, 2 of my fav ladies in the whole wide world are rocking out this week with their new stamps and I am just over the moon excited for both of them and I know they will both do awesome as they are the most awesome stamps! and I have to say I feel so super duper honoured to be on the DT of each of them, I am so blessed to have such awesomely talented crafty girl peeps as treasured friends :)

This first make is from Krista's new Saturated Canary stamps, they are all awesome and if you need a catalogue to go peeky at to see more there is one right here from over on the Little Darlings site, squeeeeee there are some of my cards in it!! squeeeeee!!! and if you are here in the UK like me...don't worry! I have heard they will be winging their way to stockists here too..so form an orderly line and no pushing....mwah ha ha ha!!!!!!!

and a new Tiddly Stamp too of course!!! this make is from this 'Cute as a Bug' set!! love it!!
toooo cute!!!
Isn't she just awesome zooming off in her bug? I love the hearts smoke and the sentiment is just too cute! I cannot tell you how much fun it is to stamp a Tiddly!!!

So now on to my little guy and more totally proud mummy moments!!!

I love this little guy, he rocks so much because he always loves to make a gift rather than buy one and he always knows just what he wants to make! and he is nifty with copy and paste on the pooter too!!(...yeah...he scored a good score on his report for ICT!! he got excellent with a level of 3!!)  this little guy made his own awesome backing paper for his make!! too cute!! here he is all busy...
Huge thanks to Bev too for telling me about collal multipurpose glue, its fabulous!! Mo used it for all of his project! I was lucky enough to find some in my local garden centre when I took mum out for lunch on tuesday. And this is what he made....
Squeeeee its sooo adorable. He scrunched up his paper and inked it, then splodged it on the canvas, rubbed round the edge (...with mummy's nail file...gulp!!!) stuck the blue flowers on the heart shape ( blue is his favourite colour) and mummy bought an easel for it!! I think little peep made gifts are the bestest ones in the whole wide world! I always take piccies of him making his gifts because I print the picture out small and attach it to the back of what he has made. His little photo is nestled into the back of this mini canvas.

Ok, I'll be back with a scheduled post later this afternoon because its challenge time again over on the Saturated Canary Challenge blog!!! off for a cuppa and snuggle time with mo before we have to get ready for school and work.
See ya'll later!!!
Huge hugs Lou xxxx
