Wordbook!!

Omg!!! my poor blog!! a whole week since I last posted!!!!!!

But I have been busy I promise!! I finally finished my uni work ( lou gulps and hopes her result is a pass!)
And I have been working on this wordbook for a friend at work who wanted someting a bit personal and special for her boyfriend for his birthday next week.

I decided to go for his name for the book. I used my plantin cart in DS to make the book base and for cutting some gorgeous Funkyhand papers ( for the A and E page) the D page is nitwits tailwags paper, I find it so much easier to do in DS as I can shrink them a bit smaller than the base page and get a lovely border. I distressed them all with my yummy frayed burlap distress ink.
For the D page I computer generated a little sentiment and printed it straight onto a tag cut from plantin.

I tore a bit of funkyhand paper ( this one is from the dreams come true cd, darkness lifts section) for the tags for amy to write her personal message on to sit in, I did 2 incase its a long message!!! one on normal and one on shadow as I thought it looked sweet!!
For the N page I used this photo of amy's furbaby, the very gorgeous miss Kiki, with daddy. I love this photo!!! the sentiment is computer generated and printed on a couple more tags, awwwwwwww soooo sweet!!
For the E page I used a piccy of amy and dane, it doesnt look too good from my piccy but is much nicer in real life!! I used the you embossing folder in my cuttlebug, it s such a nice folder.

The hearts embossing on the letters and the D page panel are from the cuttlebug love language set.
Right I had better get Little Mo to school and me to work now!!!!

Have a great day peeps, thank you for popping in on me xxxxxxx

Just Magnolia 'it takes two' challenge.

Morning peeps!!!!!!
It is an absolutely gorgeous sunny morning here today, I love to see the sun.

The challenge over on Just Magnolia is 'It takes two' . So I needed to use 2 magnolia stamps to make my card!!!!!

This challenge came at a great time as I have a poorly friend at the moment (big hugs to denise xx) and wanted to cheer her up with a surprise card in the post.

I had borrowed my friend Fi's magnolia stamps just a couple of weeks ago and had stamped myself a fair few gorgeous ones that I don't have ( thank you Fi!!!xxxx) so I chose a background and this gorgeous tilda with roses. She has the cutest little tag on her bouquet so I carefully wrote 'get well soon' on it. The little butterflies are actually mine!! they were from my yummy magnolia spring club set.

I coloured the stamps up with my promarkers, for the sky on the background stamp I used pastel blue and the big end of my promarker, I wanted a patchy/cloudy sky effect so I just coloured over the image the once hoping it would dry like sky and I was so pleased with the result, its hard to see in the pictures but it did look lovely.

The roses have a gorgeous glisten to them that I put on with my clear at you spica pen by going over the top of them after I had coloured them and the glazed over them with my glossy accents.

The paper on the base is my minds eye and it was double sided so I used a scrap of it to stamp the little butterflies on, they look so cute!!! I punched a scalloped martha border too with the same side to get the little strip across the base and inked it up with my distress inks, as well as the edges of the card. The little bit of natural string is some crochet cotton and the little heart charm is from my stash!!!!!

I popped up the background stamp and tilda with some foam to make them stand out ( grrr hard to take a picture of too but here is my best effort!!) My lovely husband actually teases how many photos I attempt to take before I get what I call a ' good bloggy one!!!!'

.....and here's a little close up of tilda, awwwww she's gorgeous!!!!

Little Mo is a bit under the weather with a cold, we thought it was hayfever until he woke up this morning stuck to his pillow with a runny nose!!!!!!! bless him, so he is just sitting quietly on the settee. He has decorated his bedroom wall with his fab pirate wall stickers from Fi, he loved them!!!! but I am not allowed to take a picture until he has finished decorating so I wonder what he has in mind for when he gets home tonight?!!! I will probably wake up in the morning to find he has brought in the contents of his sand pit!!!!!!!!

Right must get ready for work :(

Thank you for popping in on me,

hugs, Lou xxxx

tilda wedding card.

I made this card for a friend at work who asked me if I could make a special card for her to give her fiance on their wedding day.
I decided to use my new maid marion tilda as she looks a little bit weddingy!!!!! I stamped her on pearlescent paper and coloured her with my promarkers. I have tried to keep in my carrie's wedding colours for this card so tilda is quite plain really, just some blonde hair (like carrie) and a bit of a claret coloured red (i had to do that with one of my whispers pens as i don't have that colour in my promarkers). I cut her out with a scalloped nestie and ditressed the edges a bit with some tattered rose distress ink.
The inside of the card is in a tunnel style with little heart shapes cut out for the windows , I made 3 pages to pop some nice weddingy sentiments in.I used a claret coloured pearlescent paper and my gorgeous martha punch, I kept the little hearts that come out of the punch to make the confetti to stick on the white card.
I wrote the little sentiments on my computer and got scott to play with the document a bit so I could print straight onto the cardstock to keep it really neat and tidy.
Then I glued all the pages together with my atg (ooooh made it so much easier to do!!!)

I made a base for the card pieces to sit in on with my scorpal so that I could make a flap to close over the card, I think it looks really pretty. I put a strip of punched martha hearts border on it and the claret paper under tilda is embossed with hearts. I added a strip of organza ribbon and a bow on the front too.
When i had finished it I ditressed all the edges with tattered rose as it softens the sharp edge and I decided it looked more romantic!!!!!
I hope carrie likes it!!!!
Heres a close up of tilda, she looks so sweet!!!!

Well now I've bored you with piccies of my card I am going out to make another card!!!

Thankyou for popping in on me xxxxxxx

Lili of the valley summer feel challenge!!

Morning peeps!!!!
Lili of the valley challenge blog were looking for a card with a summer theme and being as I have 20 or so summer birthdays to prepare for I thought this card would be perfect!!!!

I used this cute little crab from Lily-boo's under the sea digi set, it has such cute summery under the sea pictures with oval frames around them, I love it, I have to admit I was stuck between using the crab or the mermaid but I decided on the crab as I could make him a snappy birthday sentiment on my computer!!!! I coloured up my digi with my promarkers.

( coral for the crab and leaf green and honeycombe for the fishies, leaf green and holly on the greeny weed and pastel blue for the water, buttercup and sandstone for the sand)
When he had dried, I covered the crab in some glossy accents to make him pop out a bit!!!
I decided on a step card so I could put some waves on it and cuttlebug embossed a bit of card for behind the oval with my tiny bubbles folder.

I used my martha loop punch for the 'waves' and rubbed a bit of blue ink on them then went over the top with a bit of frayed burlap distress ink so it didn't look to shiny.
I used a bit of my garden twine to wrap around as i thought it looked a bit like fishermans rope and it gave me a sea feeling!!
I popped a couple of eyelets into my crabby oval and popped some twine through there too.

Well Little Mo is terribly excited about going to Longleat today (......hence the early morning posting on my blog as he got up at about 4:30am this morning......) I must admit I am rather excited myself but ever so slightly worried about the gorilla island and sea lion bit as you have to get on a boat to see them, I do not do boats, not even a little squidge, I am terrified of them, its the water thing for me, so that might have to be a mummy cup of tea moment!!!!!
Thank you so much for popping in on me.
Big hugs,
Lou xxxxxxx

Gribbit!!!!!! my yummy magnolia frog prince stamp!!!

Oh my goodness me!!! this stamp is just too cute!!!!he came in my magnolia spring club stamps and he is just fab!!!

I made this last night, I coloured him up with leaf green and a bit of pastel biege for his tummy and shading and a gold at you spica for his crown I felt he needed a bit of bling on his crown too so he is the best prince in the pond!!!!! lol!!!!

The heart shaped love words are a magnolia stamp too.

The super yummy paper is my minds eye wild asparagus paper and it went perfectly with my froggies greeness!!!!!! a bit of martha, distress inks and a heart shaped charm on a bit of garden twine and he was done!!!!

On the inside I popped a good for a kiss anytime ticket stamp with a little bit more twine on.

Well, I have had a morning so far of being entertained by Mo who has taken a liking to Justin Bieber and is doing me a show of the Baby Baby song, it is soooo cute!!!!!! might have to get him the album!!!!!

Right, cup of tea and then work for me!!!

Shaped card fun and Get Funky's may challenge!!

Oooooh I do love shaped card, they are soooo much fun to do, which is super as the challenge this month that Enfys has set over on the Get Funky challenge blog is shaped cards.
Here is my little angel sitting on a star shaped card!!! The angel is one of the new releases from Lily-Boo's boutique that I coloured up yesterday, I embossed her moon a bit to make it look a bit more 'moony'!!!.

I made the cardbase and topper in design studio, (it's two of the stars from george and basic shapes with another for the topper) and cut them on some gorgeous blue patterned paper rom the blue magic section on my funky hand 'Dreams come true' CD.
Behind the topper is a piece of sticky silver glitter vinyl and I popped a little gem in the midle of each star.
For the little stars and the sentiment over the top of the card I used a little crescent shape of acetate and the little stars that came out of the hols in my topper, I cut a slightly bigger one for my 'for you' sentiment.

I wanted to keep the inside quite simple after the bling of the outside so just popped 'happy birthday' in there.
This second card is my super cute little pirate guy I also coloured yesterday (and Mo has taken a shine to this card!! don't think it will make it into an envelope for anyone!!) he isn't for the Get Funky challenge but I couldn't leave him out!!!!Again I used my design studio ( figured I'd better give it some use now Fi has set up a cricut club for us here in Lincoln, I don't want to look to rusty at class!!! romfl!!!)

I welded together 2 of the palm tree's on the island on the pirate boy key of paper dolls dress up. For some texture on the leaves and sand I gave the a squizz through my cuttlebug and inked them up, the trunk I used some of my wood effect cardstock from my jolly to the kanban factory!! ( I tell you that £20 box is endless and the cardstock cuts like butter with a cricut).

So thats the fruits of my labour for today!!!!! I am going to have a lovey hot cup of tea and a couple of oreo biccies now and then I might go out to play in my crafty garage again.

Here is our 'Mo-ism' of the day - "mummy and daddy , i know that you have to fall of your bike to learn how to ride but my leggie's are all bruisey and I am not doing anymore bruisey-ing today so I am going to leave it for a couple of days!!"
He just makes me laugh so much you can't help but hug him!!!!!!
Thank you for popping in on me, hugs Lou xxxxxx

A day of colouring!

Hello peeps!! I've been busy colouring these cuties today!!!

Guess who watched avatar again last night?!!! lol !!

I am just about warmed up now after watching ryan play football this morning, it was sooooo cold and windy!!!!!!
I treated myself to a bit of colouring this morning before we went! I picked out one the new angels from lily-boo's boutique and one of the litle pirates. I fancied experimenting on my angels with some of my promarker colours that I hadn't used. I think they came out cute.

I had some more time with little Mo practising the bike with no stabilizers thing!!! it is coming on but slowly, he is such a sensitve scared little man but we will keep trying!!!!
Right of for a cuppa and then out to my crafty garage to put these cuties into action!!!

Lily-boo too May challenge- shaped cards!!

AWWWWWWWWW!!!!!! I just love this new little digi , he is in the new set Sam has on Lily-Boo's boutique!!!
I am very lucky to have such a creative chick as a big sister!!!!
The challenge over on Lily-Boo too's challenge blog this month is SHAPED CARDS. Lucky me, I had my trusty wild card cart for my cricut on hand!!! The tough part to that was choosing which card shape to use!!!!
I loved the sentiment on this one though, it fitted so nicely with the huge hug that this little doggy was giving his bone!!!
I embossed the cardstock behind him with a fiskars texture plate in my cuttlebug and chalked it gently with brown, the little pawprints on the edge of the card are a punch i bought ages ago in a little stationary set.
My super cute little dog is coloured with my promarkers ( sandstone for his body, pastel pink for the bottom of his paws and pastel beige for a bit of shadowing).
Please pop over and join in with the challenge on Lily-Boo Too, you can help me to see if the new linky works for posting your creations!! We are always looking for a simple and easy way for you to link your amazing creations and think ( with the help of Tami!!) we have found a way!! ( mind you, it took me half an hour to get the thing to post properly!!! Lou hangs her head in shame at her computer iliterate self!!!!!!)
I am entering this cute little guy in the following challenges:
Cupcake Craft - Don't be Square
CRAFT - Shaped card
Meljens Designs - Shaped card

Little Mo with wings!!

Morning peeps!!! Its a lovely morning here, it rained overnight but it is quite bright and cheery this morning.
Over on the UK crafters thread Kerry and Kate gave us a wings cricut cut and material (optional) challenge. I had an idea in my head quite quickly for a layout usig a photo of little Mo that scott had played with in photoshop. He had so much fun jumping from one wooden platform t the next and scott snapped this fab picture of him mid- flight!!!!
I used the winds from indie art and stuck them onto the base photo, then I used another photo to cute Mo out. I popped the top layer up on foam squares so he is standing out from the page.
The 'explore' is from my home accents cart and the 'let your dreams take flight' is all mixed up.
The material is some sacking my mum gave me in a bag of material last week, there were all sorts of goodies in it!!!!
The buttons are basic grey, sam and I had lots of fun arranging them last night!!!!
Here's a close up of little Mo flying! its so hard to take a picture and get the dimension to pop out!!!
I am so looking forward to the long weekend, I have got some yummy new digi's from
Lily-boo's boutique to play with so, they are so fab ( Jo, you will love one of the new sets hun! xx) I am really excited about them, will try and post you a sneaky peek over the weekend.

And
Lily-boo's boutique is sponsoring passion for promarkers weekend workshop too!!!! honestly I dont think my weekend could get any better!!!!
Right I had better get myself going as we have to drop off our poor car at the garage for a new clutch and gearbox (ouch!!!) before we drop the little guy off at school.
Thank you for popping in on me xxxxxxx

beautiful sunshine and a baby card!!!

Oh the sunshine is pretty today here, it makes me feel so cheery to see the sunshine in a morning and wake up to the birds singing.
I am just waiting for some glue to dry on a project I am doing for the UK crafters thread before I can so the next bit so thought I would take some time out from watching the glue dry to post this cute little card I made last night!!!
Its the giraffe from the new arrival cart, one of my friends was making him at cricut club a couple of weeks ago and he looked so sweet, I had to give him a go.
I popped him on a middle step card and used martha to pretty it up. I used a little baby sentiment on the front and a little heart charm, so cute!!!!!!!
I am in for a lonely night tonight as scott is in london in a meeting for the day and won't be back until 9:30pm ish so I might get some more made!!!
Thankyou for popping in, my little blog seems to off been a bit lonely lately and I love peoples comments, it inspires me to make more!!!!
Hugs Lou xxxxx
