Get funky spots and stripes challenge!!!

Woo-hoooo!!!! I have made something !!! yey!!!!
Here is my entry for the Get funky challenge blogs January challenge of spots and stripes!!

I had to head straight for my salt and pepper download from the funky hand shop. I can't wait for the new cd to go on sale it looks fabby from the snipets I have seen from the funky hand DT members and have got my pennies put aside ready!!!!
I needed a little break from my uni assignment and I decided to get myself out of my comfort zone of cards and challenge myself to do a scrapbook page ( I think this is the 5th page I have ever done so I am getting there!!!) The salt and pepper download colours matched really nicely with a photograph I wanted to use.

This picture of Ryan is my favourite picture of him we have so far and when we showed it to all the family everyone kept saying "doesn't he look so grown up and handsome"
I printed out my 2 sheets - 1 spotty, 1 stripey from my salt and pepper and gave them a good scrunching up to grunge them up a bit!! Then I straightened them back out and rubbed them with my file to scratch ad distress them a bit. Ryan likes cool stuff like that so I figured it would be perfect for his page.

Then I did some tearing and inking to get the cool edges and popped them onto my white 12x12 cardstock, I inked the edges of that too. I ripped a couple of strips of the stripey piece to get a couple of layers on the bottom part of the page and put one of the strips over the photo using a couple of screw brads. I used the left over bits to make a funky flower and for the centre I used a screw brad ( I had to keep it 'manly'!!)
Then I inked up some alphabet squares saying " all grown up and handsome" and popped them on the top half of the page. I only inked the edges of the "ryan" on the photo as I wanted to keep them gentle with the white on the photo.
I doodled a bit around the edges with my white gel pen and I think thats it!!!!
Thank you for popping in on me xxxxxxx

  7. I love your idea of crumpling up the papers and then flattening them back out it's really effective. Your scrap page is fab. Thank you for joining in with our Get Funky challenge this month, it's always so exciting for me to see what crafters create with my papers.
