Our new little girly- Holly

Ok, so I know she is not a card or something crafty but this is our beautiful new dog. She is a yellow lab and we got her from the rescue kennels. Little Mo has named her and she is called Holly.
They think she is between 2-5 but we will know more when we have taken her to the vets for a good check over next week.
She is so gentle and as I type she is snoring away after a busy day of walking, popping to pets at home for some spoiling and a new bed and toys, more walking and playing and to her disgruntlement ...a bath!! though to be very fair she was an absolute star once she had gotten into it!!

Here she is all sleepy and snory, bless her!! check out the polka dot collar!! I almost squeeed when I saw it!! I love me some polka dots! The little bunny is a toy she has carried everywhere with her since Claudia gave it to her this afternoon! cuuuute!!

So tomorrow I might be back with something crafty!! ...then again..this little lady is soooooo cute I might actually be doing a lot more playing!!! :)

Wicked Wednesday ATC - fairy tales/ nursery rhymes.

Paper- Nitwits FBQ Bear Necessities
Promarkers- blush, soft peach & peach
Chestnut, cinnamon & walnut
Antique pink, cocktail pink & pastel pink
Sandstone, caramel & burnt sienna
Pastel blue,denim blue,china blue & midnight blue
Evening Peeps!!
I have had a busy but lovely day at work today. Little Mo was tired out and fell asleep snoring as soon as we had had our bath so I pootled out to my crafty room and decided to get my ATC done for this weeks Wicked Wednesday ATC challenge. Its fairytales/nursery rhymes this week and I just had to use the gorgeous Queen of Hearts to do mine. I used to love this nursery rhyme when I was little, I was always bemused as to why the Queen was doing her own baking! I could never picture a Queen baking tarts!! lol !!

I was going to colour her red and then I decided I wanted to match her into the nitwits paper I had merged her onto. I cut my kraft card to 2.5"x3.5" and then trimmed my patterned paper with her on so a lovely edge of kraft would show. I am really enjoying a weekly pootle into ATC land so huge thank you's to Jenn and her fabby team for getting me going on them again! xxx

Here's a piccy so you can read the rhyme a bit better but I know you all know it off by heart really!!
Well that's me for today. I am going to snuggle up on the settee and watch Van Helsing now (mmmmm....Hugh Jackman.....) with Scott (....who is probably thinking mmmmm...kate beckinsale and Lady vampyres...!!) and have a lovely cuppa!!

thankyou for popping in on me

Alice in wonderland!

 Images....Alice time for tea
keys from Key paper set
Alice quote from good old google search!
Afternoon Peeps!!!
How are you all today? I am good! I have had a very productive morning!!
I cleaned out my craft desk ( 2 bags of rubbish later I was able to see the surface....3 bags later and there appeared my 8ft craft desk!!!) got 2 loads of washing done, sent a couple of emails, and made 3 cards!! go me!!!!

The card I am sharing today is the card I finished off this morning. I needed the glossy accents to dry on my "painting the roses red" roses (..Ha see ya'll are going to sing that all night now aren't you????!!) I loved that bit, they are my fav bit of the card along with the cute little 'made out of a cocktail stick' paintbrush!!

Here's a close up of their wet look red paintyness...:) love it!!!!
I am popping this card over on the challenge on papertake weekly this week which is Happy highlights. I just love how glossy accents changes the look of things, these roses still look drippy wet!!

The teacup on my card is a long gone freebie that Christy from Tiddly Inks gave us a while ago. I just cut a little slit and tucked the tag in, cute! I printed the grunge checkerboard paper straight onto my base and then everything else went on top of it.

This card is for my friend at work, I hope she likes it!!!

Well, I need to get Mo's tea in the oven now before I go fetch him from lego club, he always comes home sooo hungry when he's been at an afterschool club!!!

My earliest childhood memory....

Morning peeps!!
How is everyone this cold, grey and wet morning?!!! great I hope!!! I am frozen!! I am sat in my jeans, top and fleecey jumper with the heating on and my wheaty bag which either means its freezing cold or I am getting a cold, I am hopeful of it being the weather as i just don't fancy a cold this week!!! :)

Anywhoo!! onto my little creation for today!! (....grrrr which I started last night but the base coat of paint on the journal page refused to dry.....cue lou and her heat gun this morning....8 mins of drying whilst singing along to Sheryl Crow........sorted!!! lol!!)
My poor little art journal has been shouting me from under the pile of papers and mess on my craft desk for a couple of weeks now and I just has to pull it out and get busy last night.

My earliest childhood memory is that of a huge need to want to hold a small, wild bird! I was so obsessed with them because my grandad had nursed a robin back to health from a broken leg and it regularly came back to be fed. When Christy, from Tiddly Inks, released Wryn and Wren I couldn't believe it and I was pulled to her straight away. I wanted a bright and cheery page so coloured her in to match my papers. The tree is a little extra pressie that Tracy from Dies to Die for had tucked in my envelope when she posted my order before christmas. I  love it and have been holding onto it for a special something and this page was it!!!

I added a couple of hearts and I wanted to stamp the word 'memories ' on it so I could journal underneath. Now I wanted a shadow underneath and had to think about how to do it for a few mins! 3 mins and a scratched head later and I had got it! my stamp is a clear one so I inked it up with brown ink and gave it a good squish down onto the hearts which squooshed it out. Then I stamped gently over the top with some black ink on the stamp! yey!!
I typed out my journalling (..man my handwriting is so icky, you don't all need to be tortured by that!!)in word and then distressed it a bit with some tea dye before roughing up the edges and doing it again!!
The journalling bit incase ya'll want to read it!!

I have to say I love this page!!  I am popping it in over on the CES challenge blogs Anything but a card challenge.
now onto my Sheryl Crow song. This is one of my favourite songs by Sheryl. I know everyone has different thoughts on a songs meaning but this song for me reminds me of  how I can sometimes get with my prayers. I feel that sometimes I forget about the big picture and only turn to God for a chat when I am struggling, I am going to sort that out this year! I start my Alpha course next Tuesday night. Mo on the other hand is more switched on than his mum, he says "goodnight and thank you for a lovely day" to God every night and I never have to remind him or tell him what to say, he puts me to shame! last night he asked God to keep the dog we are hoping to bring home from the rescue kennels on Saturday lovely and warm because it was a cold night, awwww!! she is a yellow lab and adorable so keep your fingers crossed for us!!
Here's the song by Sheryl Crow if you want to listen, we don't need to get the same message from it but it is a beautiful song all the same....

Thankyou for popping in on me, huge hugs Lou xxxxxxx

A little bit of love....:)

Good evening peeps!!!
its a bit of a late one from me today as I have been indulging in my gorgeous son and hubby today and we spent the day at the zoo.
Mo absolutely loved it as he got to spend 10 minutes sat on a bench staring at this guy......
and the best thing is that when Scott took this photograph the gorilla was sat right up to his window staring back at me and Mo sat on the bench. It made Mo's day as the gorilla's are his favourite at the moment.
Anywhoo, onto my gorgeous and CAS card!!!

I made this card with my papers from the Funky Kraft Stash download and the word 'love' is spelt out with the alphabits from Steam Funk. I love the huge dots on this one, they are gorgeous. All I needed to do was add a nice big bow with my pink raffia and the job was done!!
I am popping this little card in the challenge over on Simply Create too, which is love is in the air.

I have had a funny end to the week and felt a bit low so a day out with my guys was so very much needed and it has reminded me just how blessed I am to have them in my life.
Thankyou for popping in on me. Do you know how much you cheer me up everyday? I hope so, sending you huge (((HUGS))) just incase you don't!

I am off to listen to The Gael again now, its my fav song from my fav film, The Last Of The Mohicans (mmmmm Daniel Day-Lewis..) and it never fails to make me cry! so if you have tissues at hand, click the pink link and come cry with me!!!!!

Wicked Wednesday ATC -Dress forms/Dresses

Morning peeps!!

Last week I was sooper bad Lou and didn't get round to getting my underwater ATC finished for the Wicked Wednesday ATC challenge blogs challenge so when this week challenge of Dress Forms/Dresses came up I just had to make amends by doing 2!!!! :)

The little thick stickery things came free on a card making mag I bought a long while ago  and the papers are snippets left in my Funky Hand paper folder (.....errr Craft The Year Away i think......!!) Jules will be most proud of me!!!

I covered my little ATC cards with them and the added a little MS lace punched red core card (...also from my scraps box of all sorts of things...Jules will be doubley proud of me!!!) to one and some teeny flowers from the same red core on the other. I added the stickery things and on one I used some of my Funky Hand Steam Funk alphabits to spell out 'bake' in a kinda grungey way!!! Love it!!!

So I think thats me for today!!
I love fridays. I know I only work 2 days but I get so excited for the weekend to begin so I can have some quality time with my little Mo and hubby!! we always have pj morning on a saturday and its fab to just slomp around and veg out!! I can't wait!

Little Mo has been busy this morning already....

He, he he!! Just look at that early morning scruffy hair!!! (oh.. and the mess..but hey what else is baking all about for little peeps!!)
The choccy fairycakes are in the oven and should be ready to ice before we go to school!! yey!!!!! I love this little guy soooo much!

Saturated Canary challenge 9- Die cuts/Punches..

Copic sketch pens- W1,W3 and W7
pastel blue promarker for light sabre

I am pinching myself as I write this little post because I still can't believe I am on the Saturated Canary DT!! I just want to say a quick thank you to Krista for wanting me to play with her gorgeous images, huge mahoosive hugs hun xxxxxx

Anywhoo, get on with it Lou!!! (lou takes deep first sc challenge post breath and ......) this weeks challenge over on the Saturated Canary challenge blog is...
I had lots of fun with this challenge and I really enjoyed making my creations!! They are both 8x8 cards giving me plenty of room to play around with nestie shapes, Lord T's weathered clock die and some Funky Hand papers!!

For my little force card I fancied a mono theme!!
I used my circle nestie and scalloped circle nestie, my cuttlebug love language die for the heart and sewed it on with a kiss!! the heartblocks embossing folder and the stars embossing folder.
My little force guy is coloured in just 3 copics (...mainly because I only have 12 copics..!!!) with a hint of pastel blue promarker on the light sabre.
The sentiment I made in word and added another die cut of the little hearts but popped them out for dimension.

Then onto Enjoy The Rain. Oooooh I love the mystery with this chick! she is awesome.

Copic sketch- B37 and B39
promarkers- blush,soft peach,peach,
cocktail pink and antique pink.

I love the quote on this one, its from Henry Wadsworth Longbottom and I thought it matched her so nicely. The spoltchy paper is one of my favs because it looks just like splotches of rain, and the pink polka dots were to match her skirt (...yup I have that colour the image hen find the papers thing going on this week!!!)
The leafy fronds are my MS punch, both in blue core card and a sparkly vellum and the punched border is MS cherish edger. I hand stitched that with some blue embroidery thread.
I couldn't help adding some pearls to this one.Omgoodness I just love both of these images sooooo much!!!

All you need to do to join in the challenge is arm yourself with any Krista Smith Saturated canary digi or simply sassy stamp and get die cutting and punching!!!

Oh.....and why do I love that cute little The Force sooooo much...well here's a little reason why.......my own little mini Jedi!!! Mo-bi Wan Kenobi....!!

and here he is with Yoda!! (...and CP-3o but dopey mummy zoomed in on the cuteness and forgot to take another of the whole lot...ooops!!)
So thats me for today!!
More (((hugs))) for Krista and her gorgeous DT for having me xxxxxxx
Thankyou for popping in on me
Hugs Lou xxxx

oooh a big Juicy Tag!!!

Papers and sentiment- Steam Funk from Funky Hand.
Morning everyone!!!

I have been sat at my pooter getting not a lot done since I dropped  Little Mo off at school this morning!! so I thought I would do something productive and share my big, juicy tag with you!!

I bought these huge tags last year from the pound shop ( well, I say huge... they are about 6" x 3.5" which is huge to me !!!) they kind of sat in the pile of mess on my craft room table until a couple of weeks ago when I made a christmassy one and thought to myself , hey I should do some more of these ....then I forgot!!! (..yup, I am that useless!!!)

So when I found them again the other day I just had to use my yummy new Steam Funk papers, I love them so much because they have one of my fav colour combo's of all time, browns and creams! ( mmmmm cookies and ice cream....!!) and thus making them delicious to create with!! I also remembered that I have an awesome rolled roses file in my MTC that I hadn't used on a long time so I cut some out with my trusty cricut.

While it was working hard cutting rolly roses I covered one of the big tags in a sheet of yumminess. If you look closely at the papers they have awesome little crafty words all over them!! I love it!!! I punched out some butterflies and leafy fronds and started off the glue gun on heating up (....not to self....making a cuppa and getting some dinner whilst forgetting the glue gun is heating up is not the best idea ever.....however it does leave a really hot toasty smell in your cold craft room which is quite warming........)
I layered up my little butterflies a bit with 3 layers so they looked all fluttery! they have crochet wool for antennae's to match the strings through the tag!!

The sentiment I inked around the edge and then screwed up (...and trod on it........just to make sure it was squooshed...) then I unrolled it and inked it again. It my favourite way to distress something.
Then it was just a case of splodging it all on the tag which was awesome fun and I love how it came out. Here's another piccy from a slightly different angle...
So I guess my big and juicy tag is me for today!!! I am popping off now to spend some time with the fur babies from my old nannying job!! I love them as much as the children and today they need a quick run out while their parents are at work and the children are at school so I get to have furry cuddles today!!

Challenges I am popping this tag into...
Truly Scrumptious challenge blogs -something forgotten - the big tags from staples buy....last year!!!!
(ladies, I tried to leave a comment on your gorgeous DT creations but it wouldn't let me so if you pop in on me, I loved them xxx)
MMCS challenge blogs- Fav colour combo - browns and creams !! I love browns and blues too...:)

Have a fab day peeps!!
huge hugs Lou xxxxx

Tiddly Inks challenge 78- Colour challenge!

Morning Peeps!!

Yey!! its time for another Tiddly Inks challenge over on the challenge blog! and I am excited about this one because let me tell you when I heard it was a colour challenge I kinda hid my head!! but the colours were so easy to play with that I just fell in love right away!!! I got one of the gorgeous new Wryn's to help me out on this one, she is so cute I couldn't resist!! squeeeee!!!
So onto the colours......
All you need to do is have these colours prominent on your card so you can muddle some others in there too if you need to!!

I coloured my little Wryn up to match the colours, here's my promarkers list incase it helps anyone out!
Skin- blush, soft peach and peach.
Hair- apricot, ginger and burnt orange.
Dress- buttercup, tulip yellow and gold
Shoes- denim blue, china blue and midnight blue
Heart flowers- pear green and olive green
Plant pot- terracotta and henna

My little hearts I cut on my cricut and threaded some blue thread through and the little tags are from my SU teeny tags stamp set punched out with my jewellery tag punch. The scalloped border is my SU scallop punch. The faux stitching is my orange glaze pen and it look so pretty IRL as it is a little raised.
I have to say I loved making this card!  I even found some yummy paper that held a few of the colours for the challenge too!!

Please don't forget to head over to the challenge blog and have a peeky at what all the tiddly inkers have been making, they will knock your socks off!!
And before I go and get the kettle on for my morning cuppa I have to thank each and every one of you again for the awesome blog hop, it was so much fun seeing all Christy's digi's in action and I absolutely loved it, huge hugs to you all for joining in and making my day and your fabulous comments too which will cheer me up everytime I look at them xxxxx
