A hug in an envelope.

Morning peeps!!
How is everyone today? good I hope.
Little Mo is much better and of to school today. He has missed his fabby teacher so will be pleased to see her today. She is so lovely.
This little gorjuss party princess card is one I made for a person I recently met online. She is having a really sad time at the moment and I wanted to send her a little bit of something.
It is so hard when you don't know someone very well to make a choice on an image so I went for this gorjuss girl. She is so sweet and makes me smile so I am hoping it will do the same for Mandy.
I stamped her in rich cocoa memento ink and I am so pleased with how soft she came out.
The punched border was lovely to play with as I added a little bit of blue stitching  to tie in the colours on the paper.
Her dress and teddy's dress is paper pieced to match the backing paper ( which was a lovely bargain from T K Maxx, a huge pack of it for £9.00 in their sale!!) I think it is memory makers as it matches a little 6x6 book I have had for a while.
I made the sentiment on my computer. I punched it out and added a little heart charm.
Sorry about the picture, the days are so gloomy here still with not a lot of sun peeking through so this one was the best I could get before I mailed it off!!

A hug in an envelope recipe!

Ooooooh!!! I am daftly excited!!This is my teensy weensy sneaky peek of  one of the cards I have made using the fabby new Craft The Year Away papercraft factory from Funky Hand up for release in just 5 days time!

Whats even more exciting is that you can listen to the silky tones of our very own Funky Man, Ian, as he walks you through a demo of Craft The Year Away and its total yumminess!!!

It really is cool  and I have done nothing but play with it since it came! I haven't even scraped the surface of what it can do yet!! and what could be even more exciting than that you ask, well.........

Anice will be showcasing the brand new Papercraft Factory on Create & Craft tv on Sunday 30th January at 10am and it will be up for sale over on the Funky Hand shop at 1pm on sunday 30th January.

The little paper rose on my card was made in my yummy new Make The Cut using a cut file by Penny Duncan. They are so addictive!! If you go to Penny's blog she is awesome at them and she sells made ones in her etsy store.
I will be back on sunday to show you all of this card, or you could tune into C&Cfor 10am to see what Anice has been busy creating ready for her demo's.

Tiddly Inks Challenge 35- Quote me!

Morning peeps!
Well, another week has whizzed by and its Tiddly Tuesday again!!!
This week over on the Tiddly Inks challenge blog we are having a 'Quote Me' theme. So all you need to do is think of your favourite quote, grab your Tiddly Inks image and get busy on a project to enter over on the challenge blog using the magical froggy linky tool!! Be sure to have your entry in by 10pm CST on Monday 31st January.

Onto my little boo bunny creation! as you know we lost our gorgeous little black dwarf rabbit simba on saturday.Little mo has been pretty upset since then and is missing simba terribly so I decided to make him little card to cheer him up.
Mo bought the Bunny Boo Adventures set a long while ago with his tiddly pennies and I have not got round to playing with it yet but the timing was perfect as I have a favourite pet quote by Colette that is so true. It goes...
" our perfect companions never have fewer than four feet"

Now I am sure Colette wrote it about a cat but I think it rings true for any pet with four little paws.
I printed both Bunny Boo and my gorgeous polka dot paper from Funky Hand's Dreams Come True papercraft factory onto some very pretty pearlescent paper. It looks so pretty IRL but I couldn't get it to show up in the piccy. It kind of sparkles like Edward Cullen in the sun (mmmmmmm..Edward..........!!)
I coloured up Bunny Boo and then went to work on my card base.
Now it might look like Kraft card but it is actually good old recycled file folders. They are lovely and thin and just like Kraft card but oodles easier to find and probably cheaper too!! lol!!!
And on the note of bargains Christy is having an awesome sale over on Tiddly Inks too so get over there quick to get some fabby bargains for your Tiddly Inks challenge cards!!!

Click here to be transported to the sale!!!!

Anyhoo, as much as I would love to sit here and womble around blogs all day I have to go to work :( so I will be back later to go bloggy wombing!! oh and a card recipe before I forget.....

Bye bye bunny card recipe.

A little bit of love!!!

Morning peeps!
Hope you have all woken up to a fabulous monday! Little mo and I didn't wake up until 5:50am so we had a little bit of a lie in, poor daddy though was in a bit of a rush as if the mummy and mo alarm doesn't go off he doesn't wake up either!! lol !!

I made this gorgeous little card last night whilst having a play with my A child's year cart. I had half forgotten how fabulous this cart was! if you haven't got it I think you definitely need it!!!

Now don't forget that Anice will be  putting her piece of circley inspiration up on the Get Funky Challenge blog today and it might even use some bits from the new cd due out soon!!!! Mo and I spend hours of fun just watching the countdown timer go down over on the shop!!! he thinks its fab!!!!

Well, I am off to finish a little more ironing and get ready for work. The weekend seemed to fly by with everything going on!!

Sad day and Betty Card!!

I just wanted to share a quick card made with one of Funky Hand's gorjuss Betty stamps!! I had the love 'n' that set to play with and oh thy are just fabulous. Betty stamps like a dream which is fab for paper piecing which is what I did with her dress.
I used papers from the fabby Colour Me Happy papercraft factory  from Funky Hand ( ooooh and super exciting! there are piccies of the new one over in the shop)
The lovely centre rise step card base on this one is another fabby Penny Duncan file. If you haven't been over to Penny's blog you really need too, she makes the most beautiful flowers and cards to cut with MTC.

And so onto the sad stuff...

our dear little rabbit Simba passed away yesterday. Little mo and I went out to give him his tea and he had just gone off to heaven in his sleep. He looked so peaceful, he was 6 and a half.
Little Mo was devastated, he adored Simba and was always in the run whenever Simba was, sat with him reading o him and alsorts so we have a very sad Little mo here today. Ryan was sad but at almost 11 he can handle it a whole lot better, me? yup I cried like a big baby with mo when we found Simba yesterday.
Mo had some time with simba this morning, he had even wrapped him up in a tea towel  and was snuggling him by the time we got outside, he was so sad bless him.
We bought Simba from another family who didn't want him anymore when mo was 1. He was the most loving rabbit and we will miss him terribly so we had a little bunny funeral this morning.

I covered a box with brown paper ad Mo decorated it with a picture of simba's play tunnel and a carrot. He put some sawdust and straw inside " to keep simba warm and cosy mummy" and he gently put simba in (yup, mummy cried again as mo was crying, urgh!) then mo blew 2 kisses into the box and gave simba a last stroke and put him gently down into the big hole daddy had dug.
He popped his simba's fav toy ( a dingly bell treat storer thingy) into the hole with him and then him and ryan filled the hole up with their littl plastic spades ( more tears from mummy...)

The boys made little crosses for the  'grave' and mo popped a teddy ornament on top with simba's food bowl which is going to hold a little plant. Mo made a special heart on a stick for his teddy to hold.

So thats us for today!! lol!!

Get Funky Going round in circles Lou day!!!

Well, its been 6 days since Allison kicked us off in fabby fashion on our new way of doing challenges here on Get Funky with the Going Round In Circles challenge!!! so with that in mind it comes to me to post my circley piece of inspiration for you today!!
....and here it is........

I had a very boring looking little notebook sat staring at me on my workdesk and it wa screaming out for a bit of funkiness!!!!

I printed my papers out from the Colour Me Happy papercraft factory.I just love those big juicy polkadots!!
I adhered them onto my notebook and using my nesties I cut out some circle shapes to make a nice little home for my scrunched up flower.
The flower itself was really easy to make.
I punched 6 little scalloped circles out and screwed them up into little balls.
Then I unfolded each little screwed up ball, placed them on top of each other and used my crop o dile big bite to punch a little hole through all the layers.
I popped a little split pin through the hole and covered it with one of the juicy polkadots cut out from my scraps of paper.
Then all you do is just play with the layers to arrange your flower how you like it. I like mine a little scrunched up!!

So now a quick recap on how to join in.......
The main rule that you must use at least one Funky Hand product remains the same and to help you take part this month there is a freebie which Anice is so kindly giving away for this month to help you with this challenge
Your freebie can be downloaded here from the Funky Hand website, keep checking back with us every month for a lovely new one!!

And remember, you will have to pop back to the Get Funky challenge blog every third day this month when a different DT member will be showcasing their project, so remember to follow this blog so you know when a new project has been uploaded. So be back for the 24th when Anice will have something to share with us!!

Right off to try and finish of a card with a butterfly on in time for En's challenge!!
Hugs

Mine is the last on in at number 50 so there is plenty for you to womble around!!!
This card is for a friend at work to give to her mum. She needed traditional and a gerbera!!
Here's a front view of it!!

Oh this gerbera was a pain!!! the glue did not want to dry because of the cold in my crafty garage and took 3 days for all the layers to get dry before I could do the centre!! argghhhh!!! lol!!!

So its all done now!!!
Thecard is a cut file from the lovely Penny Duncan and the gerbera is an svg I just googled but I love it.
The gorgeous butterflies are cut from my storybook cart, I love their whimsical flight paths.

Diamond wedding anniversary invites!

 Hello peeps!!!

Phew, after 2 very busy nights working on them I have all the 60th wedding annivesary invites done for Scott's Nanna and Grandad.
They were surprisingly hard to take a photo of with all the white and pearlescent vellum flowers and fronds on the front!!
Inside is some yummy pearlescent paper ( fetched for me by awesome BF and BF 2) with all the details on which I forgot to take a piccy of, but it looks beautiful!!
There are little diamonds in the centres of the flowers representing the diamond wedding annivesary and you can just about make out the diamond pen around the edges of the photograph.
Here is a close up of the photograph.....
( mmmmm, taking photograph of  the photograph didn't come out too well!!!)

But I still love this photograph of Nanna and Grandad on their wedding day. Wow, 60 years! that is awesome isn't it?
Ok so now I have this finished up I am free to go out to play in my crafty room and do some me makes!!!! I have some yummy top secret stuff to play with and a few other card orders to finish up but I am sure a little me time is allowed!!! so the kettle is on and once I have a cuppa in hand I am off out there.
I just have to add that the moon is absolutely huge here in the UK tonight  (I would love to know if it is huge with all my friends over the pond too!!) I always find it quite magical that we are all looking up at the same moon wherever we are so if you should have to take a peek out there tonight just imagine me on the top of it blowing y'all a big kiss!!!
hugs Lou xxxx
